I think why the guys at CES may have thought they were in is because the inbetween inning scene pans around the stadium and you see players in the dugout. In game play does not show anyone in the dugout. This is done to keep frame-rate constant.

Can you guys clarify if it is possible to play online against a PS3 user on the Vita? If yes, can you access online leagues and play league games? Will > Skill.

You cannot access leagues with the vita. The vita does not have online league capability.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I thought I asked this already, but I can't find my post. Maybe I put it in the wrong thread.
Anyways...Was there any discussion of adding in new touch functionality. As in having the pitching ball placement done with the rear touch so we can actually see where the ball is on screen. As it is now your finger covers the ball and you can't tell where you are placing it if its in any view other than catcher.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I did not have any specific discussions about this but you are right it is tough to be finite when doing pitch location by touch. Seems like users in general are pretty down on anything rear touch and tend to shut it off but I think it needs to be explored more in the Show because they need more options to map functions to.
For The Show it would work more like a mouse on a laptop. You could move the ball around just like a mouse using a trackpad and then let go to get the spot you want. Obviously have an option to turn it off if you dont like it as well to satisfy everyone.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I really hope that its true and they got rid of the framerate drops. Its really terrible at times in The Show 12. It doesnt bother me as much during the cut scenes but I just played a night game at home with the Twins and there was a huge slowdown in framerate during pitching using the Pitcher Full and Close camera options. I'm using Analog pitching and my timing was way off. Changing the camera to Broadcast helped but besides the crowd looking pixelated the Pitching Meter was right in the face of the catcher...
In fact it felt like the framerate went down slightly during batting as well, which was even more frustrating. Maybe its due to the way Target Field is build with a lot of spectators behind the outfield, but as it seems now ill likely have to give up on my Twins franchise..Spending time with Jesus!

Its not like I'm not going to buy the game because of a few stutters, but I certainly will be upset and complain in the hopes that next year it is completely gone.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
This is the first I've heard of minor stutter being present. Not to seem overly critical, but even some minor stutter is just unacceptable in a game where every Vita has the same hardware. It should be optimized to run without any stutter at all. The thing about framerate is its a very personal thing. I play most of my games on PC where I get a solid 60 fps on nearly all games. If I don't I drop down the settings a bit to get a solid 60. When I see The Show on Vita it takes some getting used to, and then when I see any drops at all its frustrating since a game should never do that, not when so many other games run smoothly. I simply can't accept any excuse for that. I know a lot of people who only play console games and are used to both locked 30 fps and constant framerate drops. But go look at Burnout Paradise and tell me that 60 fps doesn't make a huge difference.

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I didn't get in enough playing time with Vita, so I'm not sure about how good/bad frame rate issue is with 13, but I have put in quite some playing time with 12 on Vita and in my games frame rate drops weren't as big on an issue.... (mind you, I'm not counting frame-rate drops in cutscenes... which happened a lot). I have seen a few times when fielding in a packed stadium, but not often enough to bother me much. I believe in which stadium you play matters, so that's something to consider to change when you are having issues.
But what I have seen at times when playing MLB 12 wasn't acceptable even for me. Don't get me wrong cutscenes don't bother me at all and for the most time I didn't have real issues with the framerate either but what happened in that game I played at sold out Target Field when I was pitching with runners on base wasn't nice to say the least. It felt like 15fps. (everbody feel free to test it, play opening night in franchise mode with the Twins at Target Field and you'll see..) Not being able to play properly with some teams/in some stadiums can't be a solution, sorry but I'm not a big fan for your suggestion nomo17k.
I can live with some framerate stuttering and I hope Nemesis04 is right but I think I'll wait until the first guys post thier impressions concerning the framerate before I'm getting the MLB 13.Spending time with Jesus!

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Im a PC gamer myself but I dont care too much about a high framerate, I usually prefer higher detail level. So when I'm playing PC games I usually try to get a framerate of at least 25 and I'm perfectly fine with 30fps.

The biggest gripe I had is when in the broadcast view when pitching nearly everytime or everytime you go into set and the pitching meter comes up (I use pulse so its very noticeable) the framerate drops a ton and the meter becomes unusable for a second or two. Granted it finds itself and then I can pitch, but this happened to me constantly. It made pitching a hassle and frankly should not be an issue in a game where you throw over a hundred pitches a game if you play 9 innings.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - VITA Version - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
If home run trots are finally in, and the framerate is better (horrid slowdown when pitching) then I'll be happy to re-purchase a vita. I like building my RTTS player up on the vita because it makes it faster to get to the majors.Comment
