That definitely puts his talent and passion for the game in perspective. I'm gonna try and watch some more Pirates games this years, along with my annual Yankees games and Cubs games. McCutchen seems to be a special talent and I hope his success continues.

I'm still a little confused as to how he's gotten all of these votes, as I doubt the majority of voters know this much about him, but it makes a little more sense I guess. He's almost relatable. He really is not just playing for the underdog, he IS the underdog. Interesting story.

Nothing personal against Cutch, he's a terrific player and a great person, but to me, if you win the TRIPLE FLIPPIN CROWN, you deserve to be on the cover. Period.

When comparing McCutchen to Cabrera: the American League is a HITTERS league.... aka much easier to obtain the Triple Crown. Also, look who Cabrera had around him in the lineup. Compare that protection to McCutchen's protection.

When comparing McCutchen to Cabrera and Sabathia: Yankees? Tigers? Big markets who can BUY and MAKE players. Cutch is making HIMSELF into one of the greatest players in the MLB!!!

What's wrong with giving McCutchen recognition for not caring about himself and wanting to win this cover for his fans?
