Yeah, people seem way too emotionally vested in a cover vote. I'm as big a Tigers and Miggy fan there is, but I'm more than alright with Cutch being on the cover... As a fan of baseball, I think he's a great pick, and everything you look for in a spokesman.

I voted for McCutchen he had a good year and it doesn't matter to me who is on the cover hell you could put a ball a bat and glove on the cover. I care about the game more then who got voted cover guy.

Has anyone else noticed that there is somewhat of a curse for cover athletes of The Show. If you look at all of them, they all have had significant drops in their numbers, maybe not the same year as the cover, but in their not so distant future. Heck, look at Adrian Gonzalez, he didn't even finish the season with Boston.

A curse? Gonzalez went from a dysfunctional Red Sox team to an incredibly talented Los Angeles Dodgers team in his home state of California. The cover might be good luck!

Yeah, because nothing says overrated like a 7.0 WAR.

On another note, I'm surprised by how mad some people are at the results of this vote. I thought it was just supposed to be a light-hearted contest. Does it really matter who's face is on a cover that you're only going to see for however long of a time it takes for you to take the packaging off of and open?

Congrats to Cutch. I'm honestly shocked he won because on twitter all the support seemed to be for Kemp or Sabathia, as far as celebrities go. I'm a Yankee fan so CC would have been AWESOME, but Matt Kemp is my favorite player and his tattoos are awesome, so I voted for him multiple times. All I can say is that I am glad it is Cutch and not Posey or Harper. I'm shocked Ryan Braun finished last. But overall, good idea, but I wouldnt say great execution. Some people were starting to pick up momentum towards the end (CC). A madden style bracket would have been the best, but IDK if they could have legally done that. But at the end of the day, better than another Red Sox player. And I find it especially funny about the A-Gon cover last year where he got traded lol, ala Brett Favre Madden 09.

I'm very happy to see 'Cutch get the cover.

When is the last time the Pirates had something this prominent for the ballclub and while they all seem like good guys, McCutchen just seems like the guy who would live next door to you and he'd throw the ball around with the kids in the neighborhood.

You're making your own cover because you don't like who's on the box of a baseball game, something that literally has no affect on anything.

Btw, you're going to be REALLY disappointed I guess when you have to see him every time you start the game up. Maybe just pass on this year's version?

these guys pushed hard on twitter to be on the cover. McCutchen, CC & Kemp especially. Tons of tweets telling people to vote. Guess it paid off. Congrats to Cutch, i wish for his sake he'd get out of Pittsburgh so he can experience team success.
