Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet

I can't wait for until you're able to get 49 of your closest friends together and all sit down and play a game where each one of you is a different player on the team. Although it would suck to be the fifth starter.

Hoping they changed it where there are more free agents like there is in real life. Seems like in '12 free agents would resign with there teams before they became open to the market

Does anyone know when community day will be that will discuss uniforms and stadium details?

Now I've been very critical of the fact sheet, especially with its RTTS components. I hope that as March approaches we find out that the items they put here end up only being a glimpse into the game. That being said I'm hoping that no trade clauses, as well as mid year contract extensions are at least on a "to-do" list somewhere for The Show, because its been something many people on the O'S forums have been calling for for a while.

Okay man, seriously?!? This is one of the worst comments I have seen on this thread and that is saying something. The Show has added so many new features and has made an entirely new experience out of RTTS and franchise. This is a great list and it is frustrating to see you saying that you hope it is only "being a glimpse of the game." Are you kidding me? You haven't even seen any footage or blogs about it yet. I'm sorry that they couldn't cater to YOUR exact needs. People on Operation Sports have been finding every single thing missing and complain about it. The developers have been meeting a lot of those issues but can't do them all. I find people constantly griping over the little things to be extremely frustrating. For once look at the big picture and really see how much this game has improved.

I don't know why SCEA even come on here anymore.

Kudos to Russell for commenting on some of these posts but quite frankly I don't know why he bothers.

OS is full of spoiled little brats who have ridiculous expectations.

As others have said. It's only $60. Don't like it don't buy it.

Because a majority of the people on here can discuss the game like mature adults with each other and SCEA.

On a side note (not directed to OP), everyone take a deep breath. This thread is about a fact sheet meant to highlight SOME of the features/fixes that were accomplished this year (you have not even REALLY seen this years offering yet). It is not exhaustive, and although getting to every single request in a single year is not possible, rest assured that we do hear you. Please keep in mind, that because a particular feature is of the utmost importance to you in particular, does not mean there are not thousands of other people with thousands of other features that are important to them. We try to prioritize these improvements to satisfy our fans as best we can given time, resources, technological restrictions, and many other factors. If your feature requests were not met (which you don't really no for sure yet), please don't take it personally. Patience will pay off, and you are in control of your purchases.

So, try to be civil to one another, and save this post and read it each time before you venture here :-).

Anyways, I know the majority of us are super excited for '13, regardless of what was added or left out.

But a mature discussion should still include even the most outrageous concerns and even people one would deem disorderly, as long as their complaints are backed up.

Everyone is technically a customer or potential customer and has the same rights as anyone else to express how they feel about the product.

$60 is not a trivial amount of money. Multiply that by all the people who buy the game each year and that is a lot of money. I feel everything bears discussion when it comes to products like this.

The main issue that caused these discussions is that there will only be ONE The Show game each year and it typically feels like users don't have a lot of input in the changes Sony decides to do each year. Like beginner mode, was anyone on here really begging for this? Probably not, and seeing things like this makes people feel "Well why the hell didn't they add this if they were willing to allocate resources to that stupid thing." The dev team does take a lot of input from the fans, but at the end of the day we have no actual power to make development decisions on the game each year. We might be able to influence them, but SCEA an Sony have the final say in what warrants money to be spent on it. So when the fact sheet comes out there will always be people mad, people happy, and others that just don't care because they game will be out in two months and whatever their complaint is doesn't matter to a game that's nearly done.

Have they said anything about if the new detentions at Petco and Safco will be in the game?

In the bold is where you are being short sighted. OS is not the sole target audience, actually we are more of the minority in the whole picture. While many here may scratch their head as to why something like that was implemented there was a bigger audience outside of OS that strongly felt the need for it. We are fortunate that SCEA comes here and feeds our hunger for the ultimate baseball simulation but there also needs to be a balance that satisfies the larger buying audience as well.

Like Cubfan said, people come on here to discuss the game with SCEA.

You can't expect all to be hunky dory all the time, like Woodstock from 69'. We're not going to hold hands and dance in circles singing to love, peace and happiness. People will have questions and issues with things that have or have not been done. While this is a thread for us to clap for all the great things we anticipate, it's also one to ask and question about things not mentioned.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the mods are bothered by this. That's part of why they're on here. To answer questions and explain things they can explain. They get mad when threads go off topic like I'm doing right now

MLB 13' franchise player progression? In the past there were issues where high quality players were available as FA after a few years of playing because of rapidly progressing youngsters. Has this progression bug been resolved?

Are you serious with your bolded statement here? The Show users have more input and the devs listen and incorporate feedback on this product more than any other game I can think of. They go to great lengths to do this. Just because they can't possibly get to everything everyone wants in a yearly cycle, people hold it against them.

$60 is a steal for the amount of content and play time packed in this product and people act as if they are owed more and more and more.

                              SMH.
