Of course there's nothin' wrong with startin' off with a practice Franchise till OSFM drops.

If you decide to wait, you won't be disappointed.Originally posted by baseballin23

Re: What will you play first?
Just be warned, if you start a franchise before OSFM you'll be starting a new one when it comes out. I can't see how someone couldn't resist and continued with their launch roster franchise or RTTS. Think of it like a practice like dingleberry said. It doesn't feel complete until OSFM comes out.Originally posted by baseballin23Probably going to jump right into franchise.. unless OSFM is that important and i should wait?Comment

Re: What will you play first?
I just dive into the franchise and play. I do create the Top 100 prospects or thereabouts, and then start.Originally posted by baseballin23I did my mlb 12 franchise without it but im still weighing my options for 13
By the time the rosters come out, I'm well into my first year.

With the launch rosters? You never started a new one with more up to date/accurate rosters?Originally posted by baseballin23I did my mlb 12 franchise without it but im still weighing my options for 13
It really does change the game considerably even if it doesn't seem so.Comment

Re: What will you play first?
That changes everything. I was assuming you had a choice to wait for OSFM or just start.Originally posted by baseballin23I didnt buy the system or game till October (made transition from 2k/360 so the launch roster and OSFM is all new to me. I played my franchise with the live roster that was there when i got the game. (last or second to last update they had) so there was really no reason to start a new one. also, i didnt know about osfm when i got the game but doesnt wanting to start over apply to osfm spring training, opening day, mid season, trade deadline updates as well?
I think those invested in franchise deeply, who want to take one team for many years, wait for at least the first OSFM. I don't know if they restart every update since they may have invested a long time already in that franchisse. I have restarted with a new roster, but it wasn't because the new roster came out.Comment

Re: What will you play first?
For me, I'll do what I did last year. I'll start by playing a good ole fashion Subway Series game at the updated Citi Field. Then I'll get my Diamond Dynasty team going with the uniforms and some of the players. Play a few games both on and offline. I don't know if I want to look at the playoff mode right away or wait until I actually earn a spot in the playoffs with my Mets Franny that I'll start after the OSFM Roster comes out. Same with RTTS, I'll probably wait until the rosters come out. Unless I want to test out the new catcher mode in RTTS, to see if I have to call every pitch of every game. If I do have to, I'll be really bummed out because I am the varsity catcher for my high school so I would like to be a catcher in RTTS but it is impossible to sit through every game.
Can't Wait!Comment

Re: What will you play first?
I always tell myself I'm going to just hop right into Franchise...but, then I wait for the OSFM rosters to come out and I never look back.
What I'll do this year, is most likely just play exhibitions in spring training complexes ONLY. I wanna be surprised when my Franchise starts to see the stadiums, hear the sounds....all that good stuff. I just wish SCEA hired these roster people way ahead of time lol. KIlls me to wait a month, but there's so many new features this year, I'll check out everything. The whole playoffs/presentation thing will have to wait till I make it there with my team!

As a Braves fan I am going to miss Prado a lot! He is very consistent and a uplifting type of guy for the team. Don't be to upset.Comment

Re: What will you play first?
I didn't realize the playoff mode was online as well, but the fact sheet does say head-to-head, but it doesn't explicitly say online. I never saw myself actually using the mode since I play franchise a lot. But this might be interesting to use for tournament purposes and such.Comment
