Re: Demo?
I buy every year but I'd still like to see a Demo in the PS Store. I like being able to try out new controls/features so I can gauge whether or not I'll use them once the retail version is shipped.
MLB 11's demo was nice because I got to spend a lot of time with Analog controls and I wound up using the controls for pitching and fielding all year.Currently Playing:

I feel every game should have a demo, there have been several games that I bought based on a demo and several I didn't. That includes sports games, I didn't buy NCAA because I didn't like the demo, I rented the retail later and still didn't like it. But like others have said, it's ultimately up to the publisher whether there's a demo or not.

Re: Demo?
Of course no game NEEDS a demo but it can sway people either way. I personally want a demo. This game is not a lock as a day 1 purchase for me. Due to sports games being very similar from one year to another I have done a lot of every other year buying. I want to see why I should by this game instead of just sticking with MLB 12 with updated rosters. Maybe I find I like the upgrades but not enough to pay full price. I don't know right now.
I do want to see the new timing windows, hitting tweaks and changes to pulse pitching. I only play season mode and don't care about franchise which seemed to get a lot of the love this year. No demo means no chance of a day one purchase for me. Tomb Raider is out the same day so I can easily wait.Comment

Re: Demo?
I kinda feel theres no need for one at this point, simply because most of the additions this year wouldn't really be represented in a 3-4 inning demo, besides the enhanced ball physics, although I would play it for this alone. Things like the improved franchise features and RTTS, postseason mode, the Show Live, etc wouldn't even be included.
It would also take more time and energy that could be better used to add extra polish to the retail game. Unless they released a demo after the game releases but at that point most of the core audience would have already bought it.The Signature of New YorkComment

Re: Demo?
Yeah but it's $25 for 3 day early access. Might not have been a bad deal when they actually had a full slate of sports games, but you would have to be a pretty special customer to be interested in FIFA, NCAA, Tiger, and Madden to make it worth it.Comment

Re: Demo?
Well you would think they would put a demo out since they added the warm up mode which caters to new players but I would not hold my breath it has been three years since they put a demo out pre-release.Comment

Re: Demo?
I'm sure this year will be like every other year. 10 or so days before it comes out, most Best Buys will get the game and set it up in the store on one of the PS3's to be played.
Aside from having to stand in Best Buy for hours and touch the filthy public controller, it's pretty cool being able to play the game a little early. lolComment

I think with the new beginner mode a demo where you can try that out could win over baseball fans that found the show too hard in the past..."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: Demo?
I actually agree with this... in-store demos should default to the beginner mode so that customers don't feel that the game is impossible...Comment
