    Trust me....I'm just joking.
You just happened to give me a venue with the "there are some people who haven't played the game".

I quoted you, but my reply wasn't strictly for you. It was for a few people in this thread. It's not a big deal. I just wanted to present my opinion clearly.

        Re: Demo?

We also have to remember that the cost of doing a demo is enormous. They have to weigh if they will get enough new customers at this point in the cycle to spend the tens of thousands of dollars on bandwidth and SECA is saying their marketing team says no.

          Re: Demo?

This thread is a sure fire indication of the homerism that fans of the game have.

I bet any other sports game does not receive a demo they are already out with the pitch forks and saying they suck or they are hiding something.

MLB the show has yet to even release gameplay video that is substantial or a demo and the excuses are pouring like champagne on Chris Bosh

          It will hurt sales perhaps

          It does not really matter

It is not a final indication of product

It cost to much to release a demo

            Re: Demo?

We're saying we trust the product.

It has had some serious bugs before, but the demo doesn't reveal those anyway

                Re: Demo?

Yes, there are legions of us who trust SCEA and have been with the Show for years (I bought a PS3 JUST for the game and had no system before that), so we know that they put in the work to continually improve what was already a phenomal game and don't require a demo.

There are also people that have just purchased a PS3, people that have never played the Show before, people that don't come to sites like this and are not aware of the differences (improvements or otherwise) from '13 and past versions, people that may have just become old enough to try out/appreciate a baseball game....or dozens of other reasons for a demo that have nothing to do with the people that know they are buying the game.

Of course, the people that know they will be buying the game do not need a demo...that probably isn't the crowd a demo is made for in the first place.

                  Re: Demo?

If there will be a demo, it would come out this tuesday, but if it doesn't then theres no demo.

                    Re: Demo?

Perhaps SCEA found out that providing downloadable demo doesn't do much in terms of sales increase? Best Buy usually has The Show in store for trial, so I don't really see this is a big problem either way...

But I admit that I'm one of those who first tried the downloadable demo... it can be useful to kick fence sitters and make them fall on the right side of the fence.

                      Re: Demo?

If I see a game that I might be interested in and there is no demo available I just go over to you tube. My advice to anyone on the fence on this series is buy 11. After a few games on that you will be on line to pick up 13 with the rest of us. 11 is dirt cheap and is a near equal to 12 graphically.

I don't think polish goes into the game right before release, it's more likely due to the demo being an old build of the game that the developers created months before the games release. Who is to know other than the developers when the demo was actually made? For example, wasn't the God of War 3 demo a build of what they created for E3 almost a year prior?

Ha, if you only knew how much gets done and cleaned up in the end.

So I'm guessing this happens during the testing process?
