Does doing this mean that you cannot propose a trade to a CPU controlled team and the CPU decides whether or not to accept the trade?

Yeah, I have the MLB.tv package so I'm usually watching MLB baseball on my laptop/phone or both and playing The Show.

I believe this year i'll be playing 1 and simming 5. That way I can play with a different SP each game. I'll probably also playing Opening Day for AAA Round Rock if Profar and/or Olt are down there to start off...

Really enjoying all the input in this thread, both in terms of people offering ideas, and people who are in the same position as myself.
Same here. I have never gotten past a season without using the "sim season" option. But now I will play and sim so I can get multiple seasons in. I hope my plan works, and I believe it will.

I want to play all 162, but I hate messing with rosters. I end restarting over and over.

So I'll be waiting for someone to figure out how I can replay a season with the lineups used that day and will be able to keep my stats so I can compare them against what really happened.

I don't want to play manage the CPU. I just want to hit the ball, pitch the ball, and field the ball and see my stats compared against the real stats. I don't want to micromanage player movement and all that jazz.

You can and will get trade proposals.

The second profile that you assign to teams you want the CPU to control will have trades set to AUTO and will propose and accept/decline trades on their own.

It's just like playing single team control. Everything is handled by the CPU.

Re: MLB 13 - The Show: Franchise Playing Tips

Another thing I tend to do with sporting franchise modes that I play is to sim the first season and only do front office actions. Gives me more of a feeling of ownership over the roster and line ups once I start playing in season two. Plus I support the:

                Carolina Panthers
                Arizona Diamondbacks
                Carolina Hurricanes
                Charlotte Bobcats

More often than not, the teams in that list can use some TLC for a season to straighten their personnel out!

Failing that I fantasy draft, again, so I feel more of a connection over the team I'm controlling.

Anyone else do this kinda thing?

                      Nope. Not at all.

Re: MLB 13 - The Show: Franchise Playing Tips

i get about 6 years into my Franchises before I begin to get bored of them. I never play on 30-team control but have played Franchise mode with all 30 organizations. I sim through 155 games per season and just focus on playing 1-per month. What motivates me is the re-building process. Sometimes I edit player ratings just to create some sort of storyline lol (example: 40yr old veteran leads team to playoffs and wins MVP / rookie phenom gets called up & takes league by storm)
I get really caught up in my Franchises no matter the team. Just try to have as fun as you can

I have this issue a lot of you guys have. All sports games seem to come out a month before real games get started. Then after another month im bored of the game. I didnt touch NCAA 13 from October to January. I plan on doing a season as the royals and play a game every day they play. Hopefully ill be able to do that and play a franchise at the same time. And make it last all year. Itd be the first time ive played every game.

My thought is this and I hate to say I am right...but I am pretty darn close to right on with 95% of the people. We all have (including myself) waited for the rosters with all of the minor leaguers until a month or so after the game comes out. Funny part is, I guarantee 95% of us barely get to the second season, so we aren't even getting to use these minor leaguers we waited a month for. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.
This year I am going to start my Red Sox franchise day one and never look back and have a blast with all the new franchise features. I do not want to wait a month to experience all of that. I want to get to the playoffs and experience the new postseason mode. Also, the fake minor leaguers that the Show offer sometimes have hilarious names and I think it will be fun building them up. CANNOT wait to start my franchise May 5th and never look back!!!

**I want to say to Knight and everyone else that this is no disrespect. What you guys do is unreal. I just do not want to wait a month to experience this awesome game and Franchise mode.

Wow...great post. I'm sure they won't take it as disrespectful because they're doing it for themselves as well as so many others who don't mind waiting for the rosters. I, for one, have always waited for the rosters to start but since I'm a Giants fan I finally don't need my minor leaguers as much as I used to! I'm going to take a cue from you and start my franchise right off the bat. I will probably play 1 of 6 games and see how far I can get. I play every match in my FIFA career but those games are only about 30 minutes. I can usually play 5 or 6 games a night. I'm currently on my 4th season in that game and I'm not tired of it AT ALL!! Just won my first league title ever and looking for more with Chelsea.

The last time I finished a full season was with Triple Play '96 on the Genesis. Yeah...that long ago. Before that I would regularly play full seasons with full control over every team on my PC with Earl Weaver Baseball from 1987 until I got a Genesis. (I know...I'm old.) After getting satisfaction from playing multiple seasons of FIFA, I prepared for multiple seasons of MLB 13 by selling MLB 12 and Madden 13 in the Amazon Marketplace. I made $40 on those games and put it towards MLB 13. Getting ready to dig in!!

The games would be a lot quicker. If you throw in a sim game every other time then you are playing 82 (quicker) games. You'll have a much bigger impact over batting stats then simming 1-5 games. Plus you'll have complete control over 1 starting pitchers stats for the year.

                                Still a long season...
In the half-innings you sim, are you at the mercy of a CPU manager? When you are only pitching will you get pinch-hit for, or when batting, have defensive replacements done for you? Or are you still able to control these things?
