I plan on going with the Astros and Cubs this year. Both have interesting ballparks and decent minor league systems. Both have a ways to go before they're competitive, and it'll be fun working on improving the teams over a period of several years.
For those of you who use a different team each year, who are you going with?

I with you there. I only play franchise with the Braves. I'll play a few exhibition games outside of Franchise with other teams like the Rays and Orioles, but other than that, I dive into Franchise with the Braves and that's what I'll play.Comment

I usually play as a diferent team each year. This year I think I will play mostly in The Show Live mode and just follow the season by playing the interesting matchups.Comment

I honestly have no idea who I want to start a franchise with this year. I don't watch baseball alot to the point where I know teams on an in depth level. My favorite team is the Brewers, but I don't like playing franchises with them... I want a team that has alot of young talent and is considered a future contender.... are there any teams that would fit that description?Comment

Re: For those of you who use a different team each year, who are you going with?
With my San Diego Padres franchise winding down I'm on the hunt for a new team and basically I'm looking at the Royals, Rays, Rangers, Braves, Dodgers and Nationals.
The 2013 Royals are the best team on paper the franchise has fielded in my lifetime and I would really like to take them to the next level, Tampa has a lot of nice pieces to build around and it would be fun to build that team into a true contender with better talent. As for the Rangers, I'd like to be able to develop the talent that they have there and try to win with them and the Braves are really exciting this year with their revamped team, intriguing farm system and strong tradition.
But the Dodgers and Nationals are where it gets interesting...
Both teams have nearly an unlimited payroll (National's ownership is richest in baseball according to Forbes), interesting farm systems and the Dodgers have arguably the richest history in baseball while the Nationals match that with being the most complete team in baseball.
So basically, there's my dilemma and honestly, I have no idea who I should go with.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

I usually always use my home town teams in pro games. I can use any school in NCAA though. But i plan on doing a season as the royals and playing every game. So i might do a franchise with a pretty low rated team. Houston. Miami. Maybe Mets.Comment

Yep royals for me.
Great Uni's, great ball park, lots of young talent.Comment

I really hope kyle lohse won't sign anywhere too soon then I'll sign him when I'm doing my Indians chise. in case he isn't a free agent anymore when the osfm rosters drop then I'll see if I sign some other starting pitcher if there are some better rated than those on my roster.

Interesting teams to me:
-Mariners
-Athletics
-Royals
-Indians
I really think the Mariners are going to surprise people this year, not saying they will win their division but finish maybe 3rd while playing good baseball.
They look like a fun team to play this year. They made some good free agent signings (Ibanez, Bay, Morse) and traded for Morales.
If Smoak, Ackley, Montero, and Seager can get it together hitting along side Morse and Morales that to me looks like a very solid lineup. Not to mention one of the best defensive Center Fielders, Franklin Gutierrez and possibly the most underrated defensive Shortstop, Brendan Ryan. Everyone knows Felix but what about Hisashi Iwakuma, 9 wins 3.16 ERA just a year ago and Erasmo Ramirez who put up great numbers in the minors.
I'm glad to see the new field dimensions will be in the game, just another reason to be excited about this offense...
Going to be a fun year in 2013!Comment

I will b going with the Brewers until OSFM drops, then I do 30 team control, sim through til September 1st, then play any games involving teams in serious contention through end of reg season. I choose my team by coin toss, home is heads, tails road. Then do the same in post-season, playing every game.NFL- Packers
NBA- Bucks
MLB- BrewersComment
