And lacking that ability would make me feel like I'm just playing a video game, and getting to pretend that my decisions matter.

I could care less about camera angles and uniform selection.
Managers don't call every pitch so that doesn't bother me. I'm more concerned about having the ability to call steals, hit and runs, pitchouts, intentional walks, sacrifice bunts, double switches, pickoffs, defensive alignments, etc and it's all in there in MOM.

I would love to just pitch and field in games and just have the CPU auto hit, but also be able to make any on field moves when my team is batting. A hybrid manage only mode.

Would you be happy if instead of hitting, you could override the CPU and place the PCI? I.e. no swing timing. It's even possible that you would only have to choose the side of the plate for the CPU to aim, rather than the precise PCI location (i.e. the CPU would try to aim the PCI somewhere inside the half of the SZ you picked).

For pitching of course, it would just be calling the zone and type with the CPU pitcher figuring out the details like the exact aim location.

        That would be pretty interesting.
So it would be as it is now...where the players are hitting on their own...but if we wanted...we could tell him to look for a certain zone?
Yeah...as long as it was just an option.
It's not something I would want to HAVE to do all the time.

For pitching...that's perfect...pick the zone...pick the pitch type and the player takes over from there.
        That would be phenomenal.
If you just hit O which is "play ball"(or letting the timer count down)....would it just be as it is now in your scenario for a setup?

Yeah I would be careful not to change too much in MOM. It's a great mode as is as we've seen in the guess pitch thread, people don't like it when you take away the option to play the game as they want. Options are good. The more options we ave the better though, I love the fact that the development team is putting some effort into MOM. I've always felt we were ignored, that's not the case anymore.

Just noticed dugout view is different depending on the stadium you were playing in. I wish we had the option to sit where we wanted to in the dugout.

            Re: MoM View

With two strikes on a batter, with two outs in the inning, I like to send the runner from 1st, figuring if the pitch is taken for a ball and the runner gets thrown out I will just lead off the next inning with a fresh count on the current batter, and, if its a strike and he hits it, my runner has a jump and might score on a gapper. In'12, if a strike, the batter would usually swing at it, as he is protecting the plate with two strikes on him.

Now, in MLB '13, In situations with 2 strikes on the batter, runner at first, if you steal 2B the batter will take the pitch (to allow the runner to steal) even if it's a strike down the middle, thus striking out looking, 100% of the time. It's happened so much that I no longer send runners with two strikes on the batter.

With two strikes the batter should not be taking good pitches to allow the steal attempt, as he might early in the count.

It's a Sony Bravia LCD 46'. The game does look great this year. I didn't think they could improve upon the way it looked from last year, but they have. Just looks a little cleaner and sharper.

I am a little concerned about this. When I started my MoM Spring Training Season a couple of weeks ago I was just blindly using the "Hit and Run" whenever I was on a 3-2 count with 2 outs. But after using this tactic for a while, I started to notice the batters were swinging at anything and were striking out on pitches out of the strike zone. So I started using the "Steal Base" option instead on 3-2 counts with 2 outs. But if this scenario you speak of where we are in 0-2, 1-2 or 2-2 counts with 2 outs is repeated where the batter always takes the pitch, that is concerning. I was in a 3-2 count with 2 outs last night and my batter definitely did swing (he swung and struck out). But if they are always going to take the pitch on 0-2, 1-2 and 2-2. Then we better not send the runners and it would be nice to see this issue resolved in a patch and/or resolved in next years game.

I haven't noticed this, if this is the case it needs to be patched. I'll start paying closer attention.

There may not be a problem after all. I am in the 2nd inning of a game. I was at bat with a 1-2 count, 2 outs and a base runner on 1st. I told the base runner on 1st to attempt to steal 2nd and the batter swung and hit the pitch for a base hit into right field sending my base runner on to 3rd. It all worked to perfection, until the next batter grounded out to 2nd. But them's the breaks in baseball.

                        If this was a pre-game option....SUPERB

Also...the ability to queue up a pinch hitter(like you can for a RP) instead of having to wait for the batter to be at the plate and then choosing pinch hitter...

...and....the dream.....TWO PLAYER Manage only Mode(head to head) and the ability to play Manage only Mode ONLINE!

Only if it is an option which can be turned off is it a good idea. Rarely in MLB does a manager call the game, the catcher does that and as a person who plays all the games in MOM and doesn't sim games this would be a disaster if I was forced to do it.

MOM is nearly perfect now, fix the problem with infield depth and it would be perfect.

Thanks to Brian for fixing long existing problems with this mode.
