He went from playing in the gigantic Safeco Field to playing in two much smaller parks (Fenway and Arlington). There hasn't been any 'resurgence', he just went back to playing in a place that didn't kill right handers.

Both could be totally clean, but this is baseballs image now. Everyone outside the norm, especially those that do it when they are older, is in question.
You know the other day I was watching the MLB Chanel and they were talking about how even back in the 30's some of the bigger names would start to drop off and then bounce back again. EG: Tris Speaker. At the age of 31 his OPS was .828 and his BA was a .296. But at the age of 32 his OPS was 1.045 and his BA was .388. There were plenty of examples of that also.
But yes, I know what you mean, look at how much weight Mike Trout has put on since he was drafted. Is it legit? I really do hope so, but now there will always be that doubt every time someone puts on weight and has a good year. Or look at RB, the dude doesn't look like he is on anything, but his name is all over the place.

Haha exactly, look no further than Philadelphia and Boston at this time last year. Both were 'World Series Locks'...we all know how that turned out...

I view it more in that these older players with higher overalls are going to drop a lot after a year or two in franchise mode, moreso than in previous years' games, where as these younger guys are going to be progressing more accurately than in previous versions. I think everyone's worries will be put to rest in just over a week when we get our hands on the game.

why is Ian Desmond not a top rated shortstop? The dude was the best hitting SS in the league last year, he's clutch, and he improved his glove so its no longer a liability. He also has a cannon. How is he not like a 90?

Dan Haren and Gio with the same rating? lol ok
Bryce Harper 87? I love him to death but he is not an 87

Can't wait for this game though. My nationals are STACKED! just look at the back end of that bullpen. 89,90,91. IM GOING 162-0!!!!!!

Bourjos will be the starting CF, Trout is moving over to left this year.

Maybe by MLB 15 if Trout has a 50/50 season and Rizzo is still an .800 OPS THEN a 99 to 79 would be acceptable, but not after ONE YEAR!
Yeah one year, there's no question any team would take trout over rizzo... Trout's value is easily 20 points better in terms of rating. And what does you buying a trout baseball for your kid have anything to do to prove your not a rizzo fan?

Why is Gallardo only an 85? Especially when Mark Rogers is an 87? and Estrada & Fiers are 84? Gallardo should be about 10 points better than any other Brewer pitcher besides Ax and both should be in the 88-92 range

How can Chapman be a 99 at pitcher when he hasn't been a starter? He was a fantastic closer/relief pitcher last year, but not a starter.

Also, assuming the order is relative, which of those 99-rated pitchers had ERAs comparable to Kershaw the last two years?

How does the league leader in saves (Jim Johnson) not get in the top 18 for closers overall? Not saying he should be top 5, but come on.

I'm assuming Rogers is that high because for his career (albeit a very short one lol) he's struck out nearly 10 per 9, walked only 3 per 9, and has a .209 average against... The Show doesn't take minor league stats into consideration so they pretty much have to work with what's available, no matter how small the sample size...

Over the last three years Gallardo has worse rate stats than Rogers in the only pitching stats that matter in The Show - K/9, BB/9, H/9, HR/9. This is the flaw in the plug-and-chug method of entering stats, the program will only spit out what the data tells it to. This isn't a projection system, all of the ratings are based off of what already happened.

Sorry this turned into such a long-winded post, this turned out to be more for the people complaining about how certain players don't deserve higher ratings because they "have only done it for one year".
