We may still see a post-release demo. Maybe they feel that the people who have played it every year will it buy it anyway based off what they've seen, and don't want to give it all away. Whereas the new/on the fence people will get to play the demo post release and can make their decision from there.

I really don't think it's a case of them resting on their laurels. It comes down to time and resources. Do you want less "new" content and a demo or more "new" content and no demo? And if people wanted a demo what new item would they want to see dropped?“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Demo Not Releasing This Week
Oh, I wasn't suggesting that at all. I agree that it takes time to make a demo and spend time checking it for bugs. As you say, probably the feature most suited for a demo besides the regular quick play would be a postseason game with the new presentation package. I was just saying that maybe they don't want to spill all the new enhancements to the postseason feel before release, and would rather spend it adding features (as I think they should)."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Yeah, that actually makes a TON more sense than "OMG IF WE DO A DEMO, WE CAN'T ADD "xxx" NEW FEATURE THIS YEAR!!! HOW DOES EVERY OTHER COMPANY AND EVEN US IN THE PAST DO IT!!!"Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Demo Not Releasing This Week
One example.... There was a 11th hour addition of the option to have the pitch speed in the score bug without the pitch callout on. That may have not made it in if they had made a demo."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Demo Not Releasing This Week
Possibly. But if they had planned on a demo, they would have staffed up for it or portioned time accordingly. You could also argue that if they worked an extra 30 minutes a day, they could have had added a new feature as well. These are just time management and staffing things that could have all been possible if they planned for it. Yeah, if all the sudden 3 weeks ago someone says "crap, let's release a demo for this game" and therefor other things get pushed back or not worked on, then sure, it's not beneficial. But you could argue they could have cut time out of promoting to add another feature as well.Comment
