Day 4 for me , ( 20-30 games so far, Regular and RTTS ) I just completed another full game Angels vs Reds and I have still not seen any of this stutter, nor did I ever see it when I played 12 either. I am still playing hooked up online to the internet and the with my original 10gb install and still no problem. I really don't know what to say. Also I never had a freeze problem like people had last year due to the patches.

What PS3 model do you have? Is the HDD stock? I'm wondering now if the game might not be optimized for every PS3 sku or something. Although people have reported the stutter on various models already, which makes me also think this might have nothing to do with it.

edit: merchant1874 reports not seeing it during gameplay and is also on a slim so maybe this theory makes no sense.

There must be something causing this as some people have said its been smooth so far.

Have you tried playing disconnected from the network?

I haven't seen these pitching stutters at all so I just watched these videos to see what the fuss was about.

I can safely say I have never had a stutter as bad as the one in the phillies video. If that is happening to you then you have a valid point guys.

The only stutter I have seen is when transitioning between cut scenes, replays etc. Never seen anything like it during gameplay.

Im playing on a brand new 500 GB Super slim with 10gb install. Not connected to media servers but I am connected to PSN.

Extremely strange that its happening to some and not others. Maybe I've just been lucky and not seen it yet. Maybe it's certain stadiums or pitchers?

Hopefully someone from SCEA can offer some advice and if they know about it.

Have you tried different pitch speed slider settings? Just throwing anything out there at this point. Like a lot of bugs it can be triggered by any random thing.

Deleted the 10gig install and nothing. King Felix was down 2-0 on the count to Ichiro and threw a strike with no stutter. Then the next 2 pitches were a fb and sinker both with the stutter at the release of the pitch and I struck out.

How old is your HD and PS3? I know the game sometimes has stuttered for me, but not at the frequency you are experiencing. If you are disconnected from the network and have rebuilt the database (which probably defragments the files on HD), then it could be some hardware issue as well. Basically anything you do on computer can halt and stutter when hardware has some IO problems...

How old is your HD and PS3? I know the game sometimes has stuttered for me, but not at the frequency you are experiencing. If you are disconnected from the network and have rebuilt the database (which probably defragments the files on HD), then it could be some hardware issue as well. Basically anything you do on computer can halt and stutter when hardware has some IO problems...

So it's a conspiracy. Sony wants to make one last push to get the last of the hardware out the door before they get the 4 up and running.

Buy a new one.

It does soundalike you are seeing it way more than others. Whilst others are reporting it, it seems to be few and far between compared to you.

It may well be your PS3 as you aren't doing anything different to me and I am not seeing it at all. (Although I may just haven't seen it yet).

I'm seeing it as much as he is. It really is hit and miss and you never know when its coming while hitting. The game has stability problems. Even the music on the main menu cuts in and out. It's not our systems. Mine is brand new and all other games whether it be NHL 13 or NBa 2k13 run smooth as silk. This is a glitch from Sony. How can it not be a game killer when the ball stutters coming out of the pitchers hand while batting?
This totally ruined my excitement for the game. I mean I even tracked it down three days early. I have no idea why some are experiecing it more than others but the amount of people who are when the game hasn't even been released yet is troubling to say the least.

its not my ps3. I have the new small ps3 and the fat one and it happens in both.

It does not happen every pitch but it happens in every game a couple of times and it should NOT

That's actually not that bad I would say.... once or twice in a game, that's out of like 250 pitches that pitchers typically through in a game.

I don't know about the technical details but with the graphic so elaborate, The Show probably suffers more from this type of hiccups..... reason why they reduce the amount of graphics for Vita and online.

.... I admit I have a very high tolerance for a lot of things so I cannot speak for the average guys, but if it's just once or twice in a game, I just let them go.... I won't ruin the fun for minor hiccups that only happens a couple times in a game, hahahhaa.a.......

If more than one person experiences the stutter it's a game issue period. It's like if 10 people got so k eating at a restaurant but 100 didn't its still an issue with the food at the restaurant. Listen I'm just frustrated that this is happening as I love this game.
