This might be a long shot, but for those who have stuttering can you force your PS3 to output 1080p only and see if you notice it as much? Go to display and only check 1080p.

To me it feels like I'm seeing less or no stuttering now. I counted only a few stuttering pitches during the game compared to around 30 the game before on 720p. The game looks worse in 1080p forced, for instance you'll notice the mound and outfield grass edge look jaggy in catcher view. This makes me feel that maybe it might be a performance related thing.

If anyone can test at Wrigley, Cubs vs Cardinals, day partly cloudy, lance lynn pitching for consistency.

Can you guys post perhaps

ex:
PS3 output: Automatic, only 720p, only 1080p, or only 1080i.
Connection: HDMI, component, composite

Is that just for pitch stuttering or batter walk up also?

The batter walk ups for me are still stuttering in 1080p. I'm only seeing an improvement in the stutter as the ball is released from the pitcher.

It might not be the case, but it feels like there is less stuttering when I forced it to 1080p.

Might I suggest turning off batter walk ups all together? I know it's not ideal (takes away from presentation), but it's a temporary solution to that problem, but that still leaves pitch stuttering and lag during cutscenes.

OK played another game on 1080p forced at AT&T. I got it one time for sure, but I can't tell if it happened more than that.

So far I'm seeing it less than before when I had my PS3 at 720p. It could just be me noticing it less or its just randomly not stuttering as much. But maybe give it a shot.

Do you disconnect from the internet? If so do you just sign out of psn or do you take the Ethernet cord out or turn wifi off? And what do you play on TV or monitor?.

Doesnt make sense that it happens to some and not other.

Can someone with the stutter try deleting all their 12 data? Dont see why it would be an issue but i deleted all mine a few weeks ago and so far havent had it. Maybe the 5 or 10 install from 12 is interfering with 13. Worth a shot.

I encountered the stutter about every other pitch. It's very subtle, and those saying they don't get it probably just don't notice. When you play the show since 08 you get a good feeling for how smooth to expect pitchers deliveries and this is not it. Going on what others have said it might be happening on breaking pitches. Also it happened with and without runners on base.

It's really easy to describe as its a 1/4 second pause or stutter just as the ball is leaving the pitchers hand. Really messes up your timing...

i get it, and struck out many times from it, so i hate the show now.

i believe its programed into the game....to mess up your timing....to obvious.....happens right when pitch is thrown.

just like the lame errors your players make to help out the cpu.

im playing Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2012 now....its better anyway.

I have the PS3 160GB Slim updated with a 180GB Intel SSD and have not seen any stuttering. I've played 3 Play Now games and the game runs smoothly, no stuttering at all.

I have seen stuttering in years previous when I had the stock PS3 hard drive in there, so maybe the SSD makes a difference, unless this happens only in other modes besides Play Now?

Resolution is 720P and my LCD is set to Game Mode. I am connected to PSN. All sliders are at default. The game is a digital download.

I'm going to try disconnecting from PSN tonight to see if that helps.

I hope we see a fix soon. It was so bad in that 3rd game, it became nearly unplayable.
I'm really enjoying '13 thus far. I'd hate to have to return it.

Damm i'm liking the game so much but the stutters hold it back to an amount that it's not fun to play at the moment

There really is no rhyme or reason on what actually triggers it. It tends to come and go, sometimes minor sometimes more critical. I think we are stuck until hopefully a fix is available.

Try forcing to 1080p (uncheck 720p and 1080i) in the display menu on the PS3.

It might not actually make a difference, but I'm curious to test out this variable. I feel like I saw less stutters with it in 1080p. Although the game looks nicer when you force 720p or set the PS3 display to automatic.

This issue has to be the game. Most people these days are playing newer PS3s. The older phat ones had all kinds of issues though the new ones rarely have any besides devs pushing too much or leaving in too many bugs. 9.5/10 with newer slim PS3s it is a dev issue with the game that simply made it out. Honestly, this game needs a rebuild for PS4 and that is about that.

I agree with you. It's honestly embarrassing to have this issue with the game. It feels like I flushed $65 down the toilet. I thought EA especially Madden had zero quality control but this takes the cake.

What makes everyone so confident that this will be patched?

I would just swing and hope the ball was in the strikezone or my wheel house. Haha!
