I am getting a lot of pitching stuttering. both in rtts and exhibition play.

I'm using the default batting cam with classic pitching. Although, I'm not sure why pitching setting would affect anything since it only seems to occurs when batting.

I have an old fat ps3 that had a 40 gig HDD. The only thing I did was swap it with a 500 gig drive before installing the game (downloaded the full digital game). I'm going to go back and try the stock 40 gig drive (if the game fits) to see if that makes a difference. I also ordered a SSD drive that I'm going to try sometime this week.

I've refrained from responding to you on a number of occasions as you seem quite an angry person, however on this occasion I will :-D

Patches in the past have come out at least a month after release, presumably to fix as much as they can the 1st time around. I suspect it will be the same this year.

Hold your horses, unless your PS3 ( or your impatient head) is about to blow up immintly I'm sure you can manage to wait a little longer.

A word of warning (the kind that comes from a friend): play the Show on your slim if you have one, the game is often very hard on the fatty's. While I am sure many played it on the fatty's with no problems, many more experience louder hard drives, overheating, stuttering, and even YLOD. If you don't have a slim, then limit your playtime and constantly monitor how hot your fatty is getting while playing the Show. Because my post can be misunderstood, I must reiterate that the show is a great game and I love it. I just wished someone had sent me a post like this before I had to experience certain things the hard way. Good luck.

I bought a new Uncharted 3 250GB bundle just to play this game on Monday and I get the stutter a few times a game. The Blue Disk Drive sounds like it is commit bloody murder the entire time I am in The Show.

im coming from a a fat model launch ps3 to a regular slim. same deal. that disc drive is hummin and i did the 10gb install.

Man, I don't complain much on here & I usually try to keep my mouth shut, but this studdering is just ridiculous. I just don't know how this game went gold with this issue...& also, whoever said this game didn't have this issue last year better think again...as a matter,11 did the same thing...11 AND 12 especially at night or w/ multiple runners on base...the lag was significant.

It seems the more I play this game, the more the studdering gets worse. When I 1st popped it in it seemed fine for 5 games or so...but now it's terrible...studdering AND dropped framerates...like an old flickering effect. I really hope this issue gets resolved soon, because the game is almost unplayable for me.

I'm having the exact same issue. I rarely complain about games, but this game is unplayable at times. How did they not catch this? I've played 23 games on Franchise and the last two games were really bad. If they dont fix this on the next patch, I might return it and go back to playing 12.

Analog batting and pitching.

Have played five games and saw two instances of stuttering (consecutive pitches, both when batting).

I was forced to lay off each pitch thanks to the stutter and both ended up outside the zone. Who knows... maybe this is the way to fix my plate discipline?

... but seriously ... patch please.

had my first ps3-slim freeze after switching from fat model. pop fly down the right field line. looked like it might drop in as the first baseman and right fielder pursued. froze as ball began to come down.

Still no stuttering after day 1 purchase. Have 20gb fatboy, playing with no ethernet cable attached, hitting and batting at all-star. Hope for the guys who have stuttering that they will patch it quickly.

I purchased a brand new PS3 (not sure which model, it was the Uncharted game of the year bundle).....

I experience stuttering or "pitch lag" about 1-2 times per game, sometimes it happens more, other times I go 2 or 3 games with it not happening at all.

This is beyond frustrating to say the least.

Not posting this as a "report" (as I know it's a well known issue by now and there's not much to accomplish here), but I just wanted to vent a bit. Just had literally the worst game I've had with this series since MLB 2006 (before it was called "The Show"...there was a freezing issue that ruined plenty of games for me).

The stutter was so bad I had to turn it off. The game started fine, but by about the 6th inning or so I would say it got to at least 2-3 pitches per AB (often more) and I had a stretch where it was every pitch but one in the 8th. I don't normally like the term "game killer" as it's thrown about too often, but I can definitely see why some people called this one after my recent experience. For those who haven't gotten it that bad, feel lucky! I'm confident we'll get a fix, but I feel for those who have regularly been experiencing it that badly. Very frustrating.

Some games seem nearly tolerable just a few isolated stutters some it seems as if I get one an at bat. I could almost deal with that but there seems to be a general framerate issue on every batted ball and subsequent throw out at a base. Thankfully I have no issues with my copies of 9-12 so I can wait for the patch that will clean this all up. Real shame because this game has a few nice additions.

I've been following this thread closely... and while the stuttering has happened to me a few times, I've been able to deal with it (it IS annoying though). My honest opinion is that the PS3 is old, outdated hardware that is being pushed too hard. I would accept a slight hit on the graphics if it meant the game ran buttery smooth from start to finish. Though I doubt we will have to worry about this issue next year on PS4.

I upgraded to an SSD drive today (from a 500gig 5200 rpm drive I installed) and so far I haven't had any freezing or stuttering (in three rtts games and one exhibition game). As I mentioned above, I was seeing the stuttering almost every other pitch before.

Obviously installing a SSD isn't exactly a fix, I just wanted to share my experience. But maybe this is what they meant when they said the issue wasn't "software" related?

If I had to guess (and it's just a wild guess) is it possible the stuttering occurs from the game caching replays/screenscaps during play? Maybe the standard drives are getting pushed too hard and can't keep up? It almost reminds of the stutter you get when hitting the screenshot hotkey during a PC game.
