Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
You didn't pick up on my last comment. It was sarcasm based on what a certain SCEA member has had been saying in threads here regarding "bugs" or "issues" people are having with the game. The "this isn't T-ball anymore!" reference was his answer to why Guess Pitch was ruined and not allowed the option for us to use last year's system.
My italics were not helpful enough to convey my sarcasm.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Twas a jab at how I pitch really but even that isn't a fact as I throw roughly 70% first pitch strikes. I pitch on rookie as I don't care for the challenge so yeah I'm basically playing like I'm un-scoreable, which does backfire every now and then but not too often.

well it isn't t-ball... so they changed the guess pitch system because hitting is easier this year. GP is crutch anyway. If it was implemented like last year every AB would be a homer or a walk. You didn't pick up on my last comment. I've never used guess pitch. In fact I have the strike zone turned off. I feel it's a form of cheating. Takes the fun away from reading pitches.BOBTRAIN

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
And my rebuttal to him was, if he thought it was T-Ball before, then they wouldn't have made it so much easier to hit this year.
Sliders are there to make the game easier/harder to hit. There is no slider Guess Pitch. There is no slider to make it easier to judge a low pitch (besides making pitch speed slower, which is not the right fix).
If they were worried that each AB would be a homer or walk (not even close, walks were still relatively hard to draw last year), then they could have easier just removed the bonuses for guessing the pitch correctly. Change it from being used to BOOST to your offense to just being used to BOOST your plate discipline by removing bonuses. Hell, they could even remove the ability to guess pitch TYPE for all I call. Pitch location was the golden option there because it helped with the problem of not being able to distinguish from low pitches.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
you can read pitches just fine, guess pitch does as it should this year, reward you for guessing right. If you guess FB low inside it lights up, if you guess just fast ball it will light up and if you guess just a low pitch it lights up, if that what the pitcher does. They made it so you have to train your eye to watch the ball instead of using a crutch... and I know because I relied on GP way too much last year. i only use it for location. And believe me, if i can hot without relying on it anyone can. Cause I am a terrible hitter i swing at everythingAnd my rebuttal to him was, if he thought it was T-Ball before, then they wouldn't have made it so much easier to hit this year.

Hi
I am having some problems with Rtts this year and would like some clarification.
This is my first time being a position player in Rtts instead of a pitcher. I am using pure analog with default baserunning.
With fielding from 3b, using pure analog, how do I through to first...I keep throwing to the catcher. I think I am using the right stick up. Is the direction in relation to my position in the field? So as a 3rd baseman, should I move the stick to the left?
With running I am even more confused....
I get a hit and I am running to first. The screen has Up and Down arrows. If i want to continue running, i need to move the stick (i keep forgetting which stick right or left) up.
While on base, the arrows change to Left or Right. When yhe next batter gets a hit, I move the stick (R or L) to the right to advance. Then the screen changes so the arrows are pointing Up snd Down. And this is the part that is confusing me...I always seem to make my guy turn around and go back to first.
What am I not understanding? What am I doing wrong?
Btw, my guy (me) i suck. I dont see the majors in my future anytime soon. I am a banjo-hitting, rally-killer who doesn't know which bag to throw to. David Freese's job is secure at 3rd!Comment

i don't know with the pure analog fielding (i use the buttons) but with the base running you press up on the left stick to go forward and down to go backwards,Hi
