I'm playing on HOF with barely any slider adjustments and using zone hitting. In AA I was able to hit about .340 and through a few weeks in AAA I've got an average hovering around .300.

My player is rated a 78 ovr with contact in the 70's and I don't plan to improve it for quite a while because I like the struggle/balance it brings. My concern now is that I hope I haven't crossed a threshold where my guy is going to become a .300 hitter at all levels. I would hope that if I were to be in the MLB right now I would be sub-.300

For those of you who are trying to "keep it real" ... what are you feeling is acceptable for offensive production? I really don't want to race through the minors. As odd as it sounds, I'm hoping I struggle a little and pay my dues in Triple-A for a year or two.
Many YouTubers talk about how it's harder for hitting this year because of the Guess Pitching not working as it did years past. I am just about to start '13 with the rosters out but I never used Guess Pitch and did Analog hitting, so having a high BA has never been a problem. In '11, my highest BA was .314 with 7 years in the Pros in my pocket. I only got up to 4 years in the Pros in '12 and only got up to .280. Not sure if you use strike zones/guess pitch, if so, might want to turn it off. Also try Zone w/ Analog (if you aren't already).

edit: last year I had my RTTS a stud at the plate...99 contact/power (against RHP) but kept his baserunning/speed in the low 70's and fielding low 80's. I might set caps on my player again this year maybe lowering contact cap to 90-93.

What stats would people recommend upgrading first for a SP? I already rarely walk people(regardless of who I use) so I'm thinking BB/9 doesn't matter. Supposedly HR/9 doesn't really make much difference either?

I'm just starting off in AA, but maybe there's some stats that people well into RTTS might have been like "If I had known earlier, I would have upgraded ___ alot more"

Also, does simming have any impact on the game? EX-If I just sim through season(and only play the training stuff that appears every 2 or so weeks, and upgrade the stats needed on the achievement goals), would I be alright?

I wanna play RTTS, but I wanna sim through the minors(since last year I played minors too much, that by time I got to MLB, I just got bored lol), but I don't want to sim through minors of it'll hurt the amount of RTTS points I get or something

I don't know.. I just had the best batting game for my SP in AA while playing a game just now. Went 2/3 (singles) with 3 RBI's. This is with a Pitcher that has not even added points to the batting categories as of yet. I find batting a little easier this year, but I am not dependent on guess pitch like I uses to be, I am watching the ball more as it is released now (also using GMo's awesome camera).

I usually work H/9, K/9 (BB/9 works in tandem with that) and PCTL and STA and work on the control portions of pitching. I pay alot of attention to PCTL early as it will allow you to go the distance and do complete games giving you more points to invest in. Usually by the time I get bumped up to AA I have an excess of 1000 points I keep around. I then try to save another 500 on top of that for my 4th pitch and dump all 500 into that (after all points related goals are completed). Also DUR as I noticed one series I keep being replaced after 2 innings with a back strain 3 straight games, Then had an injury (back) that put me out 2-3 weeks. Forgeot to put a little in to DUR here and there during that time. Also I think BB/9 has a lot to do with 1st pitch strikes.. While doing the training (sim game training) I notice that 1st pitch strikes add points to BB/9 while 2nd and 3rd strikes go into K/9....??

The only issue I see with Simming is the potential loss of points to invest. Instead of getting 250-350 points per game you'll end up with 90-150 per games as the simming will be strictly based off of your players skill. Where if you play, you can affect the outcome better (or worst). I find that most of the time I can do better with my RttS player by playing him than what the simm'd results will be if I simmed him. YMMV

My lord I'm on a cold streak. Currently in the 2014 season. In 71 games at AA in the 2013 season I hit .419 with 27 HR's. That, earned me a call-up to AAA just before the minor league all-star game. In 34 games in AAA I hit .245 with 8 HR's.

Those stats were good enough to get the Royals to purchase my contract and invite me to Spring Training. After only getting to pinch hit during the Spring, I fully expected to be sent back down to the minors, but no, I was kept in the bigs. Being whoa fully under qualified I played in 14 games by June. To top that off, in 45 ABs I had 4 hits for a dreadful .089 average.

After failing my goals three times I was sent back down to AAA, only to continue my sucky-ness batting .167 through 10 games. I really home I bounce out of this soon. On a good note though, out of my 11 total hits in 2014, 4 are HRs and I did hit a home run in my first game at each level. Yeah!! Me.

Sent from that place where I'm at.

Yeah, I'm actually enjoying it. I was a little worried while I was in AA hitting as well as I was. I thought about raising the diff level from all-star but I figured I would wait till I got to the bigs and if it was still easy I would do it then. Glad I waited.

I made a RHP to use with the OSFM roster. I finally got him into an ace and am currently crushing the current season. The All-star game is next and I'm 19-1 with a 1.90 ERA and 153 K's.

Drafted by the Cubs, traded to the Mariners in year one and then on my first year of arb they traded me to the Jays.

It varies, some games I never get traded, other games I forget who originally drafted me.

Update on my slumping LF'er, so after passing one set of goals in AAA I get called back up to The Show. I am currently hitting .117, so I raised my average, lol. On a positive note I did continue my streak of hitting a home run in my first game after changing assignments. So that's 5 assignments and 5 first game home runs. .
