I always go with Banana Palmer for every sort of career mode in games. I just randomly came up with the name. Every year I make him in NCAA football which helps decide where he goes to college.
He is a stud 3 sport athlete.

What I do is go to the first & last name audio, close my eyes, hit a combo of R2, L1, R1, L2 and then press up and down a lot, and it lands on different names. Whatever it lands on for the first & last name is what I end up with.Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
In previous years, I've created players in RTTS with my given name, but for MLB 12 I decided to go with a different name.........Wolverine Money. Might go with that one again or just conjure up something new.My Sports Teams:

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
When I go about naming my player, I usually jut scroll down the commentary names list until something catches my eye and then i mix and match first and last names together until I'm happy with a result. I need to be able to hear commentators and PA announcers say my RTTS player's name...it just adds to the realism for me. But since I adopted The Show as "my baseball series" back in 2009, I have had a very random set of RTTS player names...from celebrity names, to funny names and just total random names that just sounded cool to me.
In 09 The Show my primary RTTS player was 2nd Baseman, "Burt Reynolds". I kept his ratings as balanced as possible through his career and I made sure that I gave him (and never removed) the signature mustache. haha
In 2010, "Dirtbag Hooker" was my Power Hitting 1st Baseman. he didn't see near the same success as Burt did. For some reason, it was a struggle to keep him in the Majors and off the disabled list...must have been the name that cursed him. haha
"Chet Winklesauce" was a speedy little Center Fielder that I used in '11 The Show, yes "Winklesauce" is a name that can be pronounced in The Show, its just spelled a little different. Halfway through his career I decided to change his last name to "Wilcox"...just because I thought it sounded better. lol
My most recent RTTS character in 2012 was "Eddie Voss", a 5 tool Right Fielder. He was the only player I was able to keep in one organization for his whole career, which was The Dodgers. I had the most success in the Road to the Show mode with him.
in The Show '13, I am seriously considering creating a Pitcher, seeing I have never ONCE tried that in RTTS....I just have always liked hitting more than pitching....as for a name, we will see when I crack open the Announcer name lists tomorrow morning.Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
Since my own name can't be announced, I'll probably think of a name.
Maybe Leon Sandcastle.Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
Every year I do a pitcher named Sidd Finch, from a George Plimpton novel.
Try as I might, I can never build his fastball to 168 mphComment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
I would use my own name, but the game isn't able to pronounce my last name, which is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to RTTS, and I always seem to miss out on those name request threads that are posted here in the offseason.Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
Good idea, you also gave me one that I never thought of, Tony Conigliaro, his career did start but didn't last long as many of us know...
I usually try my name but the game audio doesn't have my name, I also try picking a random fun name but it just gets kinda boring, maybe Conigliaro or someone else would be fun to do...Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
Created a player named "Bobby Rayburn" a few years back. He was played by Wesley Snipes in the movie "The Fan". Always though it was a cool name.Comment

Re: Naming your Road to the Show player
I usually create myself as a position player, last year I was a power hitting 1B. The year before I was a speedy CF, and a fairly balanced SS before that. Probably gonna go with 3B or LF this year. Then I also usually create a fictional pitcher. I have done Rick Vaughn and Kenny Powers in the past. Last year I just played with some of the audio names and settled on JJ Winters.#HAILSTATEComment
