Beltran for 3 moths got back Wheeler and Cano is incredibly more valuable. Im kinda shocked.
One, that Beltran trade was downright stoopid lol.

    Two, on Cano...

Using this link, in the spoilers, I go on to prove Cano's value. My calculations may be a bit flawed lol but I'm trying my best here. Basically, Rosenthal = Cano as a rental, and 3 A's and a B = Cano on a locked up deal (for 8 years). If you see any errors I've made, don't hesitate to bring them up lol.

Second, when looking through the trade value document and you construct a package that fits the listed values, will the CPU generally accept the trade or should the trade be forced as long as it checks out as a smart and fair trade realistically?
When you sort potentials the higher ones are "high" and lowers being "low" and use force trade due to the poor CPU trade logic

To add onto this, there are about 9 tiers of low/mid/high.

Check out my damn Cano post lol... spent an hour on that

Castro is a Low B prospect to High C, and DeAza will give them a solid .275 hitting lefty who can come off the bench or start. I'd like to get Ames for a 3/4 starter once i hit 2014.

I get what your saying and it's all right it's just that first WAR isn't the end all be all, second Cano is the best player by far at the position that is least talented in baseball, and third I can't see the Yankees accepting anything less than what I stated earlier on the sole fact that he's the future of the team.

Well, you brought up WAR, so I sorta figured that's how we were evaluating.

I'd argue that Mason Williams, Tyler Austin, and Gary Sanchez are the future of the team, not a 31 year old.

He was just traded and on top of that just signed an extension with Arizona so a deal would be highly unlikely if playing with realism. If you're just looking for something fair though, I'd say you'd have to trade Rosenthal/Wacha plus another prospect from the lower minors for him

Meh, I think that's too much. I'm not gonna get into the whole $/WAR thing here again lol but I think a guy like Wacha would be fine.

Should I also take overall into consideration when building a trade package? Let's say I'm trading for someone who corresponds to a high C prospect return. I shouldn't just be able to offer them a 58 OVR high C instead of a 67 OVR high C.

A real cheap power source for the OF is Seth Smith of the A's. Not specifically young though but someone you can acquire pretty cheap. Another under the radar guy with some pop is Jesus Guzman of the Padres.

Could Trumbo be an option for you? He'll play bad defense for you in left but he fits your description.

Guess Andre Ethier would be available as well...

What teams are stuck at the bottom of the standings looking to sell?
