With the emergence of Gattis, and the depth of Betancourt, Laird, etc, do you guys think McCann is a realistically acquirable target?
Uh idk, I'd think probably you could get it done, but I still think everyone is jumping on the Gattis bandwagon a little too soon. I don't think he's an everyday catcher when he comes down to Earth

Mlbtraderumors is not a virus site (if so, I got a ton of viruses on my computer ) but my guess it's a mistake on his end.

I say McCann could be a target but not until the braves are sure Betancourt is MLB ready. Can Gattis be an everyday catcher? And Gerald laird is a journeyman catcher.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm now in 2014 in my Mariner's franchise and I have a couple players I'm working on acquiring in the offseason.

First, I want to get an infielder I can platoon with Nick Franklin. Franklin would be against righties and the other against lefties. I was looking at Jemile Weeks and Emilio Bonifacio. I figure Bonifacio will likely cost more than I'm willing to pay. So Weeks is listed as a High C. My high C's are 3B Alex Liddi, SP Brett Marshall, RP Lucas Luetge, and 1B Taylor Ard. What would be a fair deal for Weeks?

Second, I want to get Dexter Fowler and on the spreadsheet he's listed as a mid and low B, but lately seems to be taking a bit more to acquire so I was wondering what kind of package it would take to get him? I have a 19 yr old 49 ovr low A CF I drafted I'd be more than willing to include in the deal. They also do not have a CP and I picked up Heath Hembree in free agency, who I could also add. Any thoughts?

Yeah, but you can't see the whole link, it's too long. So, there could've been junk in there, leading to a redirect, phishing site etc...I've seen enough trolls/spam/ad-bots in sporting boards to know better.

Ard or Marshall would work best from the A's point of view. Bonifacio is not THAT expensive though...

For Fowler, without looking at any potentials, I'd say Maurer + Liddi + Marshall/Gohara. Or you could go with Guerrero + Gohara + low C

Boni is a mid B + high C + low C, which might be a shade too high.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

                  WARNING.

This will be a very very long post.

Alright so I typically do two franchises. One will be Rebuilding (In this case my Colorado chise) and one that is contending.

For my contender I've decided to use the Cardinals.

I know that the Tavares for Profar deal has had many mixed reactions, but considering it was discussed so much that mlbtraderumors thought to mention it I have decided to go through with the deal. My longterm plan is to have Adams play first and play Craig in right. Even though it might be worse defensively, the thought of Profar and Wong up the middle for the next 10 years (at least) gives me goosebumps.

                  Now on to real business.

I have a strategy for my various call-ups to try to play there service time clock and hopefully avoid super 2. Obviously I haven't started yet but I would like an idea of what I should look for for my various trade candidates.

I would like to unload the following players at the times listed in parentheses.

                  Chris Carpenter- Trade deadline

Call-up Miller in his place avoiding super 2

                  Carlos Beltran- Trade deadline

                  Call-up Adams avoiding super 2

Jake Westbrook- Pretty much any time.

Kelly promoted to rotation after being long reliever/spot starter

                  Rafael Furcal- Late June

Profar will start season at 2nd and then move over to short when I trade Furcal, Wong will be moved to majors

What could I get for these guys at the stated times, obviously I don't have any stats yet but I am just thinking about Value whether they are starring or struggling? Feel free to input with whatever players you want as well as whether you want to discuss there value depending on there success.

Again I am sorry for the long post I am just trying to get a long term idea of the state of my franchise.

Note: I am looking for mainly prospects although I wouldn't mind a real backup catcher, a 4th outfielder (either a speed or power guy), a proven bullpen are, and depth for the minors.

ERMAHGERD OS, yeah, jesus, OS has been RIDICULOUSLY slow lately, and I had been waiting for this to post for like 6 hours. I wasn't hacked, just frigging OS.

I don't think he's due for *that* big of a regression.

Gattis has proven he's an every day catcher IMO, the framing looks decent, the bat looks awesome.

I'm a Blue Jays fan, and I approve these trades lol. If Adam Lind is sucking, Boni/Smoak could work too.

I mean I know he's not playing up to his potential but I was hoping atleast he was still on track to be an everyday regular some day

What do you guys think of a Castellanos for Andrus trade... What would I have to add to either side if anything??? Texas could use the OF depth and I'm sure DET wouldn't mind taking one of TEX young SS off their hands...

Even with the emergence of Gattis I don't think the Braves trade McCann if they're in contention. If the Braves in your 'chise are out of it however, I think they would be willing to deal.

I'm considering sending Rutledge somewhere for a Starting pitcher, but if I do I'll probably be calling up Trevor Story (He deserves a call-up. He's tearing it up in AAA at the plate.). Is using him at second to replace Rutledge a bad idea? I'm second in the wild card race, but 6.5 out of first in my division at the start of July, so I'm trying to help my rotation out. Francis and Nicasio really struggling. Any ideas on who would be a good fit for Rutledge, and who I could get for him?
