The way I see it, I have 2 options ( both include calling Romero up from the minors ( 3-0, 3.50 ERA )

Option 1- place Buerhle on waivers ( he has no options left and 2 more yrs on his contract) and see if anyone claims him ( kind of like this as it may be the most realistic course of action- but I'd like to get something for him)

Option 2- move him to the pen until I can find a decent trade.
    The problem is...
    A) not sure which teams would want him? I'm thinking KC or Min? Any suggestions?
    B) given his performance ( and the fact that I think he's awful IRL, I don't think he's worth the 2 mid B's on the spreadsheet). I'd like to get as much for him ( preferably a RP or any decent prospect) but want to keep it as realistic and fair as possible.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Waivers or trade? What do you think I can get for him? Ideally, I'd like one of KC's RP's ( K.Herrera )

Sorry for the long post. Been creeping on this forum since I stumbled onto it while waiting for the show release. Waited for OSFM and it was worth it big time! Thanks
He's not as bad as he's been pitching. Side note: he sweats like a grizzly bear on the mound, probably because he works so fast. Wait, do grizzly bears sweat? /veering off topic

I could see a Buehrle for Colon trade with the Royals but I don't think Minny wants him. I could see Los Angeles going for him though, maybe Lindsay Taylor or someone else really solid?

Cruz is an ideal fit for the Phillies lefty heavy lineup with his right handed bat. I have a hard time seeing them part with Bastardo though since they're leading the NL East. How about two young arms coming back though, lefty BJ Rosenberg (or lefty Jeremy Horst) plus righty Michael Stutes. Remember Stutes was their SU in 2011 before 2012 was ruined by injuries and he's still struggling to find his way back into form. Rosenberg/Horst and Stutes would add nice pitching depth to your 40 man roster and bullpen.

I'd keep Moreland for now if you like him
I think I'll keep Murphy and Moreland, but I do like the Phillies idea. Another team came to mind while browsing, how about the Giants. They lead the wild card and are batting .246 as a team. Their outfield is mainly to blame for that. Would Hembree be a realistic target? Or some other arms they have?

After signing 2 free agent pitchers in the offseason, Tom Milone no longer has a rotation spot with the Athletics. As the Mariners would a trade of Erasmo Ramirez who had a good 2013 with a 2.75 era and Jack Marder (High B) be a fair trade? Or would it take more to get him?

So you want to give them back another pitcher when Milone got pushed out of a spot? Don't follow the logic.

Yeah I thought about that when I was writing it, I figured Milone was too good in game not to have a spot, and Erasmo could just be some depth in case of injury. Other than that doesn't really make sense, what could I add along with Jack Marder instead?

I think Brad Miller + Justin Smoak would be fine.

Well I don't have Miller anymore and Smoak increased to about a 95 potential and plan on keeping him. I want to get rid of Marder because he has no room. But, I don't think I'll get Milone, I just noticed he was pretty expendable and wanted to test the waters on his value.

Hypothetical for y'all. If Josh Johnson is performing at the deadline when the Jays are inevitably out of it and Pittsburgh is in contention, what do you guys think I could get from Pittsburgh for JJ?

They don't need a C. Triunfel straight up if he's dropped below an A? Nick Franklin?

Truinfel for Milone straight up? Or with Marder? B potential Truinfel seems like an underpay for a quality starter.

Oh, well color me surprised. Depending on how my finances look I think I'll do that trade.

Looking to get Tyler Colvin from the Rockies, he's currently their 5th and almost 6th outfielder due to in season and offseason moves now that I'm in 2014. He's hitting .250 with 6HRs at the end of May.

What potentials should I sent Colorado's way to acquire him? I'm playing as Arizona, so I assume that the interdivision trade would cost slightly more than usual.

AC, thanks for the reply. This feels like a slight underpay to me (maybe I am too high on Hellickson). I agree TB would like C, MI, and OF 'spects. Would TB value Jason Castro moreso than Max Stassi? If so, I could beef up my offer by swapping Castro in. If anything, I would like to err on the side of giving slightly too much, so my dynasty doesn't turn into an all star team in 2 season's time after some shrewd moves.

Saunders,Harang, and Beavan are all struggling as Maurer has moved up to my #3 spot. but none of my young SP are doing anything in AAA. I have Bonderman who is putting up decent #'s with 4 wins, so he could come up to take 1 spot, but I need to fill another..

I can't send Harang or Saunders down because they are out of minor league options so they are either going to go to the bullpen or dumped via a trade or release.

So here is my question. Roy Halliday.. Phillies are currently 8-20. Halliday is 0-5 and has a ERA in the low 4's. Spreadsheet says a mid A and high B (I think). Do you still think that would be the case even with his stats, the fact he makes 4.0 mil and in every franchise I have simmed to the offseason he is a FA.

With these factors what really would be a fair deal. I don't have forced trades on, and when I inquired, they liked E. Ramirez (who is 3-2 in AAA for me) and J. Saunders.

My reason for Halliday is I have always liked him and would be willing to pay the 4 mil this season to see if he can turns things around. Then resign him if he does to a 2 yr deal until Paxton,Walker or Hultzen are ready to take over.
Yeah, I agree with Totte it's too early in the realism sense for Philly to dump Halladay. But, as for fairness, I do think his value on the spreadsheet is the highest possible value he could fetch (meaning if his stats were Cy Young worthy in your 'chise, he could fetch that) so you could devalue him a bit. I'd marinate on which two high B's you are willing to trade, preferably minor leaguers (the Phillies REALLY need to get younger).

Hmmm, the Pirates in contention? Where have I seen that before?

I'd think, using the spreadsheet as my base, he could fetch Hanson + Heredia + Sanchez/Oliver.

Performing well means the injury concerns are likely behind him, and that is really the only thing keeping his value from being ace-like.

Have you seen the spreadsheet? Check out the OP, and the link on it. There's a beautiful Google doc that has all of the values laid out in an eye-pleasing format.

I believe Colvin is somewhere in the C-range. And given my knowledge of his history with the Cubs, and his Coors splits, I'd say that's more than fair. I don't think the intra-division thing would matter for such an inconsequential player.
