Meh, you said Castro's hitting like .145 lol, I don't think they'll value him that much, he's not amazing defensively.

Could I not go for one their true top pitching prospects, quality over quantity? I like this trade, though. Just not that high on Heredia.Originally posted by WaitTilNextYear"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric Byrnes -
Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Thank you to the 2 guy's who comment on the Halliday trade. I will have to think about it. I might just wait another month until I am into June and see how Philly and Halliday are doing then. I might just see how Bonderman does and hope Saunders or Harang can hold onto the #5 spot and long relief.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
True, that .145 AVG is not very appealing. But, I guess my thought was Castro would hit better for the CPU (I can't hit worth a darn with him manually). But, I guess it's not too important which one I send, neither is Johnny Bench.
So, Cole or Taillon? I'd have to think they are likely out of the question unless PIT feels they have a World Series team (not just a game or 2 over .500 contending for a wild card) and Johnson would have to be not just performing but generating Cy Young buzz. I feel the Pirates would be very cautious about dealing Cole/Taillon.
They may be willing to send you Polanco/Tabata instead of Heredia though.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Nah, that's not a deal breaker. I suggested Stassi because I figured it'd hurt more.

I don't think I can get Cole because he's a beast, but I think if they leading the division by 3 games or more, I'd do Taillon for JJ straight up.
If they were within 4 games of the division lead, though, I'd do Hansen + Polanco or something but I really don't want Polanco either lol, .352 BABIP isn't exactly encouraging.

Hmm, really good suggestions. Thanks.
Who do you guys think I could get from Texas for JJ?
Anyone think I could get Lindor from Cleveland? I realize it's a stretch.
Milwaukee's farm just sucks haha. It'd have to be Segura + Morris + something else."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

My responses are in bold. Boston would also take Johnson but you probably don't want to make that deal.Hmm, really good suggestions. Thanks.

Olt would probably be a bit of a stretch, you could probably choose between Martin Perez, Robbie Ross, or Leonys Martin?

Probably depends on how Johnson's performing and if Cleveland is in a position to contend. If he's doing good and the Indians are contending, you could probably do it.

If Wily Peralta was that something else, it might be worth it. I'm not familiar with the Brewers' farm so I'm not sure.Comment

Meh, I don't need Martin with Gose, Perez isn't great and Ross is a reliever. Olt is a stretch indeed and I have no room for him.Originally posted by Jakesparrow1008Olt would probably be a bit of a stretch, you could probably choose between Martin Perez, Robbie Ross, or Leonys Martin?

Yeah, I'll keep my eye on this too if it's Peralta.Originally posted by Jakesparrow1008If Wily Peralta was that something else, it might be worth it. I'm not familiar with the Brewers' farm so I'm not sure.
I'd rather do intense trigonometry while having my leg sawed off with a rusty hacksaw than see one of my favorite pitchers in a Boston uniform.Originally posted by Jakesparrow1008My responses are in bold. Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah if PIT is leading the NL Central and cozy in terms of the wild card race as a fall back, I do think they'd think long and hard about a Taillon/JJ swap. And Taillon's a Canadian, right? So, he'd fit right in.
Texas...not Profar obviously. I'd think Olt/Perez/Buckel/Feliz/Martin/Ross/Sardinas/Alfaro/Gallo. I'd think any 2 of those guys would work. And if you go with 2 of the lesser guys (Sardinas/Ross) you could toss in Font/Grimm as well. Possibly Brinson.
Indians...I don't think you could get Lindor. Though Paulino would be a good catch for you. Are you a fan of Bauer? I think Paulino + Bauer would be a nice haul.
I'd avoid Milwaukee at all costs, unless you REALLY like Wily Peralta or Coulter/Morris/Scooter.
I would suggest Baltimore, but they're intra-division.
I'd also add the Angels/Dodgers/White Sox to the list. But, the Dodgers are probably the only team worth your while, unless you are a big fan of Cron/Cowart in LAA. Would the Dodgers trade Puig? I don't think so, but it'd be fascinating to consider. The White Sox might have the worst farm in the game (neck and neck with Milwaukee and Philly imo).Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Yeah, he really convinced me in the WBC.
Sardinas/Ross? That's a trade I was planning on making, but I was giving Colby, not JJ. I LOVE Gallo though so this really intrigues me.Originally posted by WaitTilNextYearTexas...not Profar obviously. I'd think Olt/Perez/Buckel/Feliz/Martin/Ross/Sardinas/Alfaro/Gallo. Paulino AND BAUER? ERMAHGERD I need to do that, damn. You really think that's fair for a rental JJ? I love Bauer.Originally posted by WaitTilNextYearIndians...I don't think you could get Lindor. Yeah, I agree, their farm sucks, but it's not a terrible idea.Originally posted by WaitTilNextYearI'd avoid Milwaukee at all costs, unless you REALLY like Wily Peralta or Coulter/Morris/Scooter.
I'd rather do plenty of things that violate TOS than trade him to Baltimore. Just no lolOriginally posted by WaitTilNextYearI would suggest Baltimore, but they're intra-division.
Actually, now that you mention it, I'm a HUGE fan of both, hahaha. As soon as I read Angels, I thought that. Cron/Cowart/Richards would be what gets it done from my side.Originally posted by WaitTilNextYearI'd also add the Angels/Dodgers/White Sox to the list. Not Puig because that'd be unrealistic. Would Seager be that bad? I like Zach Lee a lot.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think Bauer's lost some value obviously. But, with Lindor, Paulino is tradeable, and since they basically got Bauer for free, I don't think Antonetti would rule it out. The Indians are really fiending for some postseason success. With JJ, they might have a shot in the postseason.
Seager + Lee is maybe a tad too much. This is coming from me following the Dodgers/Cubs saga last year and what they wouldn't trade for Dempster or Garza. I view a healthy JJ as a peg above Garza, but you might need to sweeten the pot (Bonifacio/Delabar/something MLB-ready) to get both.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

That's... really interesting. Hmm. I wouldn't even have to be out of contention to make that because Bauer is MLB ready and I have replacements coming at the ASB (Hutchison, Drabek, etc).I think Bauer's lost some value obviously. I didn't mean Seager + Lee, sorry, you're right. I meant one of them as a center piece to a deal with a Pederson or Gould or Reed or someone added in lol. Although hmm, MLB ready? Izturis?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think JJ + Izturis for Seager + Lee is pretty close. Maybe if you toss in a mid-C 3B/C/RF/SP prospect (one of those positions, prospect is not required to play all of them), that might get it done. I'm sorta skeptical about guys getting traded 1 year after being drafted (Seager was a 2012 draftee right?), but value-wise I think this works. And with the Dodgers, who really knows anyway? No one saw that Red Sox trade coming last year.That's... really interesting. Hmm. Hembree for Cruz is borderline and slightly in your favor. I'd toss in another mid C to the Giants as wellI think I'll keep Murphy and Moreland, but I do like the Phillies idea. Another team came to mind while browsing, how about the Giants. They lead the wild card and are batting .246 as a team. Their outfield is mainly to blame for that. Would Hembree be a realistic target? Or some other arms they have?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
