Yeah I figured Salvy would be involved since they wanted him in the James Shields deal instead of Myers. I wouldn't mind giving up Gordon but Hosmer or Salvy? Not a chance.... The prospects wouldn't be that bad... I'm starting to lose faith in Bubba.

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Salvy would 100% have to be included. Salvy + Bubba/Mondesi + Lamb + Colon or someone MIGHT work."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I really think it could happen. Send them Dominiguez and Folty or Lyles and I think it'd be done.
How is SFG's rotation doing? I think replacing Lyles with Zito would make this trade worth but IMO you could get back something else instead of Kontos/Edelfsen.
Granted, I don't like the idea of having Hector Sanchez as an every day catcher at an important position. Why don't you go for Jeff Mathis? Beauty framer, good defensively, all around meh. I really like him.
You could get Ceshek, from Miami, too, as a makeshift closer, but I don't think Castro would be included in that; you're better off keeping him.
The Giants' rotation has been outstanding, except for Zito. I agree, I could look into upping the quality of reliever. I have Michael McKenry at C, he'd be the primary and Sanchez would be the backup. I am actually considering adding Jason Castro to the deal to back up Posey. Then I could just keep my current closer, McClellan.
So as a rough draft, it'd be: Belt + Sanchez + Brown + Reliever X for Lyles + Pena + Castro + Ruiz
Yeah, Mathis and Cishek from MIA is also something to think about.
I'd think the Rays would have a great deal of interest in Kyle Zimmer and Alcides Escobar (can't have too may Escobar's at SS, amirite?). Calixte, Gallagher, and Duffy would likely be around the fringes of said hypothetical deal.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Probably. I bet that if Duffy comes back strong and continues to get better then he could definitely be a future center piece of a deal. Would they really want Esobar though? I know they're high on defense but they've also got Hak-Ju Lee coming up.Last edited by royals19; 05-02-2013, 09:06 PM.

The only B's I'd trade right now would be Tropeano, Ruiz, and Grossman. Wojo was a B, as was Springer. DeShields, Folty, Singleton, Santana, Cosart, and McCullers are all hi-low B's I don't wish to deal.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Good question. My thoughts on Escobar would be more that TB would be concerned with his service time. Hak-Ju Lee just tore his knee up pretty bad and is out all year. Since his game is speed/defense (really no bat) it's anyone's guess as to how strong (and when) he comes back.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Well you're trading for Sanchez so Hanigan wouldn't be included, right? One of those B's for Frazier is fine."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

If I was TB though, I would want Escobar pretty bad since he can be a gold glove defender and hit at the top of the lineup which is something TB needs at short.

Emilio Bonifacio for Darin Ruf?
Bonifacio gives them the OF they desperately need (Delmon Young is not an OF), and Darin Ruf gives me the platooner I desperately need. Fair?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Yeah, don't see Ruf in their plans anyway. They might as well get a decent piece for him.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Now would probably be the best time to make this trade because the Phillies are headed downhill and are probably going to be exploring youth options like Darin Ruf and could find he's incredibly valuable.
