He's actually really good defensively in game. Average fielding rating but excellent arm ratings. No errors from him, I wish they kept a star of how many runners thrown out but he's gunned out a ton of guys trying to steal.

They don't keep track of cSB%? Try in the actual statistics screen, not the player card?

So, I'm thinking about doing something similar to this trade. It's about April 10th but since it's not that major a trade I think it'd go through.

Arencibia + Rogers

FOR

Soto + Grimm

Contending team improves lineup with platoon splits* and improved their bullpen at the expense of a surplus catcher and a prospect from an area of strength.

I get a good stopgap at C that I don't hate with the passion of 1000 white hot burning suns, and I get MUCH needed SP depth. Thoughts?

I really like this deal. As you stated both teams are improving in needed ways. I'd think TEX would love that trade as well because they don't have much when it comes to future Catchers besides maybe Alfaro who's 19

Lol I forgot the * for platoon splits. I'd shift J.P./A.J. between catcher and Moreland/Berkman at 1B, with one of them getting a DH spot, so every day, 3 of the 4 of them would be playing, with Moreland likely getting the least amount of PT unless/until Berkman or A.J. fall off a cliff.

JPA will probably be expiring by the time Alfaro's ready (~4 years of control?)

I hate JPA because can't catch a knuckleball. I hate JPA because he can't catch a breaking ball. I hate JPA because he can't catch a fastball down the middle. I hate JPA because he couldn't catch a ****ing beachball. He strikes out over 30% of the time, he literally will not walk, he's an arrogant prick, he thinks he's a leader, he's a backup catcher, I hate his stupid commercials, I hate that casuals love him so damn much, I hate that he's an all-bat catcher with no bat, I hate his .245 wOBA, I hate his legendarily bad K rates, I hate that our organization loves a replacement level douchebag so much, I hate his tweets, and you know what I hate the most? I hate that despite all of the above, he legitimately htinks he's a top 10 catcher in this league, and a middle-of-the-order force. THat's why I hate JP ****ing Arendweebia (lame I know). I hope he gets run over at the plate by Prince Fielder.

I play with 30 team control (I'm Detroit) and I keep a close eye on potential trades between CPU controlled teams. Normally I can easily decide if a trade is realistic or not, but this one has me unsure.

Im not big on JP in real life either...but in game defense is rated like 71 lol so he dont rly do much to hurt you...and his power is high lol
