Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm running a Twins franchise, and Ryan Doumit is playing great. .302, 12 hr, 49 rbi.

I'm nearing the trade deadline, and while we're 5 out of a wildcard, I'm thinking his trade value will never be higher with him producing this year.

I'm looking at the Rays and Dodgers as trade partners. Lobaton and Gimenez have done nothing for the Rays, both batting at or below the Mendoza line.

AJ Ellis for the Dodgers is injured for two months, and they have no depth behind him.

Which pitching prospect from the Rays would be the most realistic for me to go after? And do you think the Dodgers would be giving up too much if I went after Dee Gordon? He hasn't been playing too much, with Hairston holding down 3B with a good season.

    I'm running 30 team control.

    Much appreciated.

The Dodgers deal is probably the best....not sure if you could get Dee Gordon though

I too would stick with LA, the Twins need help in the MI. If Gordon can hit in your Franchise he would be a great piece to add. Problem is in every thread I have read, he never hits. He only runs. Depending on what you are doing with your MI situation with (Carroll,Florimon,Dozier) you might consider sending one of them back and trying to get a SP like LHP C. Capauno in the deal

Probably the worst sequence of CPU trades I've seen

          6/25

Angels trade Jepsen and Iannetta for Mujica, Wacha and Carlos Martinez.

          then

          7/4

Angels trade Wacha for Russell Martin......

Anyways spreadsheet says Low C for Hairston Jr. but he's hitting .194 w/ 2 HRs through 75 games played would his value be more like a high D?

The thing about Dickey guys is I cant get his Knuckle ball down with the movement of the stick. Hes rated 95 overall in the game so Im sure the computer would turn him into an Ace lol. But for realism sake Ill just stash him in AAA until I need a spot start or bullpen arm try and move him for crap in the offseason

Capuano would be a pretty good add especially if he's using rosters that still have Harang on LA

The thing about Doumit is that he's not really a full time catcher. His fielding numbers from behind the plate are pretty bad. If you were going for pure 100% realism, a team probably won't take Doumit with the intention of him being a full time C

In the game, he's not as bad so go for Gordon for him straight up if you're fine with that. He doesn't hit all too well but he hits better than the other Twins infielders that's for damn sure...

Hey Guys, where is a good fit for Andre Ethier? What are some potential realistic deals for him.

                    Stats:
                    .246/.294/.388 with 10 HR, 46 RBI, 50 R

                    Teams needing OF:
                    Mariners (53-45)
                    Mets (41-56)
                    Phillies (59-40)
                    Pirates (57-41)
                    Royals (58-40)
                    Astros (51-46)

Mariners, Phillies, Pirates and Royals are all on top of their division and would be willing to give some prospects back. Astros are 2nd in theirs and would look for a solid OF to make a run. Mets are in 2nd last and I just listed them as a team needing OF.

                    Thanks

I'd look closer at Mariners and Phillies. For the Mariners, giving 2B prospect B.Miller back in return is fair enough given how the M's will eat salary and Ethier is putting up so-so numbers. Would fill a void in LA with a prospect at 2B.

From the Phillies...that's more tricky but something like Roman Quinn and Justin De Fratus in return?

I'm officially shopping David wright as I tear down the Mets. I think I can get Brett Lawrie and Osuna for him. Jays are in first and are in win now mode, Osuna is years away from the show and wright is a big upgrade at 3b. Sounds fair to me, thoughts?

Thanks, I went back further in the thread and saw Pettibone and Tommy Joseph for Ethier was discussed and generally liked by the forum. Thanks for the help!

Pettibone and Joseph/Valle works out perfectly

Sounds good to me but I'm sure AC and our other Jays fans here at the boards has some more input on that

Not realistic for either team...BUT...I am a Jays fan and I am not a fan of Lawire so this deal I LOVE, and if I was starting over my dynasty I may even consider doing that myself haha. So If your going for realism its a no, but I like it for Toronto in the game
