Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm the Red Sox and I want to get rid of Stephen Drew. I want Jose Iglesias playing short stop.

9.5 million for an injury prone SS I do not want.

Franklin is too much in return for Ethier, but I really like the idea of a Valle trade, especially with Tommy Joseph.

Wait until the trade deadline. It'd be unrealistic to trade him already.

Any teams who would give up a decent pitcher for Nolan Arenado?

Good to see this thread back, and thanks for all your work on the trade values spreadsheet. I do have a question regarding the spreadsheet - do you anticipate making any updates based on ratings/potentials of players in '13? Or when bringing a trade proposal here, should we simply note if perhaps there's a difference?

Are there any good outfielders I might be able to get with Johan Santana without including any top prospects ? I will probably want to trade him around the All-Star break once I bring up Wheeler

Well clearly as your franchise progresses things could happen that would change things. Maybe COL drafts a stud SS with 99 POT and at 19 years old he's already big league ready. Perhaps then it would make sense for them to part with Tulo. Hence why you have to preface things with a bit of background information in your post. If it's 2017 and the landscape of baseball has changed, that is important in us making a judgement on what we think of your trade

Can't remember if A-Ram was signed to a 2- or 3-year deal with the Brewers but they could be a fit considering all the SP depth they've got in the minors. My guess though is that you want an established pitcher? The Phillies would love to dangle Kyle Kendrick in a trade...Rick Porcello could probably be had. Ricky Nolasco is available as well.

How about Bud Norris from Houston?

His value depends on two things, his stats at the ASB and if there's a big market team with payroll space eager to take him on. Hard to say without knowing those facts, sorry

I'm using Twins and want to trade Jamie Carroll.

                          He's 39 and a 66 overall.

Is there a team looking for a contact bat 2B?

Either of those pitchers could probably net you Jose Tabata from the Pirates as they've got plenty of depth at the corner outfield spots and could use an upgrade in the back of their rotation.

Baltimore would probably part with Betemit and a low minors prospect for Harang/Capuano. Then again Betemit is 3B/1B/DH and you've already got Uribe for that. You thinking more of a MI utility guy?

Guess the Pirates could take a look given how Neil Walker has some back issues. He'd bring a winning attitude and leadership to Clint Hurdle's clubhouse. Don't expect much in return though more than the roster spot you're opening up by trading him

Edit: maybe the Nats would take a chance on him if Espinosa's shoulder is acting up

Please refer to the spreadsheet linked on the first page of this thread for his value.

What position(s) are you looking to fill by trading Andrus and making way for Profar?
