Is it reasonable to assume that the potential subsets would be very similar if not identical to the potential descriptors that were in the earlier games. For example, 'As Close to a Sure Thing As You can get Get" for the top A and on down the line.

I honestly have no idea. I wasn't as into franchise mode and definitely didn't know the inner workings as well as I do now. I THINK those might have just covered one letter grade, though. I think it was just A/B/C/D/F, I don't think there was any separation within the letters.

Playing as the Cardinals I want to mix a few things up. Start by trading away Freese and Westbrook. Also thinking of trading Garcia since my pitching staff is young and talented. Only question is what should I trade for and who?
Cardinals can use backup catcher/shortstop and relief pitching.
        Any ideas?

Jaime Garcia to the Angels for Hank Conger?

Jake Westbrook to the Rockies for a low level scrub prospect

David Freese to the Yankees for some sort of prospect package you might find appealing. I know we discussed this specific trade during the summer. I recommend doing a search in the thread to go back and review our conversation then

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

There's some interesting relievers on the trade block in my Rays franchise.

ATL has Venters up and they'd take Hellickson (even though they aren't looking for SP...) but there's two issues with that...

            -Hellickson is listed as having more value (mid-B + high-C vs Low-C + Low-C)

-I need hitting that improves the team to really justify it in baseball terms.

Any ideas on solid hitters (especially C or a really good bat vs LHP as my bench is very weak there)?

I would try for David Hernandez as I like his profile (99 movement? Yes, please), but they literally like no one but Moore and McGee...and that's...not happening unless I get a serious bat in return, and I don't see any realistic options there.

Then I guess there's the pitching-rich Nats. Storen and Rodriguez are up - and I like Rodriguez from playing my Nats franchise. Storen has the better profile, though. They, too, would take Hellickson, but even if I took Storen and Rodriguez (feedback makes it seem like they'd do it) - again, need offense, but don't see any real options, even if I took the lesser valued of the two as the reliever portion (Rodriguez, high-C).

Just wonder if anyone sees some guys I might be missing that could work in these scenarios?

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm 1-3 in my Orioles franchise and I saw today that they picked up Mike Morse in real life so I wanted to do the same thing. The Mariners wouldn't take Xavier Avery for Morse straight up but they will accept this:

              Mariners Get:
Xavier Avery CF (71 OVR, B)
              Michael Ohlman C (60 OVR, B)

              I Get:
Michael Morse RF (82 OVR, B)
Jason Jaramillo C (54 OVR, C) - I will release him once the trade is completed

Now I'll add that Morse has been performing well for the Mariners in their first 4 games, hitting .444 with 3 RBIs. I know its a realistic trade, since it just happened today, but is it a fair trade? If it's not I'm willing to throw in catcher Luis Exposito who is 75 OVR with C potential.

Ok cool. I'm not that knowledgeable about baseball, outside of the three teams I follow. Thanks for the help.

Hey, I am at the trade deadline in my Brewers franchise & I was wondering if it would be realistic to trade Hart for Hellickson. According to the chart, it is considered to be fair. Just not real sure if it would be realistic. Both are having an okay year so far. Thanks.

Why the sudden run on Jeremy Hellickson proposals? It seems like at least 3 guys in the last few pages are asking about him. He's having a pretty bad year this year; is there something I'm missing?

He's 26yo and still pre-arb, been decent although his stats have consistently slid the past few years so he seems like a realistic pick-up on a team with lots of young SP.

That doesn't really explain why he wasn't really mentioned in the thread at all, then all of a sudden everyone wants to deal for him.

I'm in 2014 with the Cubbies and I'm looking to Move Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo for some pitching...I know Tampa is looking for offense and I really like Moore...

                            I'm thinking...
                            Castro

                            Arrieta
                            to Tampa for

                            Moore
                            minor leaguer...

                            Thoughts?

Also who could I package Rizzo with to get another starter....I'm looking to make a playoff run....

I can't assume he is a "high B" because maybe I just have a bunch of "low B's" on the team.

How can I tell if he's actually close to being an A (a "High B") or if he's just the best of a relatively medicore batch?
This is totally OT but Jeff Aimes is my older brothers best friend. They've been friends since middle school and they played baseball together. They're a couple years older than me but he used to come over when I was younger and we'd all play video games together. It's so cool to se him dominating the minors.

Moving Rizzo is unrealistic. The Cubs just signed him to a huge Extension, he's their first basement of the future. Tampa is not giving up Matt More for anything either.
