We have Bonifacio (if you take this deal instead of the Butler deal) and/or Izturis filling the same role Getz could. Do you have any bat-first players, like a Darin Ruf kind of guy?

Come to think of it, is Clint Robinson still on the team? We'd take him.

Unfortunately, Clint Robinson was traded to the Pirates so basically, as far as power bats go, we have Max Ramirez who is a catcher and seems to have the ability to hit 20-25 homeruns while hitting something like .260.

Another player you might be interested in is John Whittleman. Whittleman was actually considered our first baseman of the future before we drafted Hosmer. Whittleman also was a futures game participant and is a streaky player. He's always had the bat but it's come in flashes so far and he's been inconsistent but overall, he's a good project and could be an excellent investment.

Heck, Brandon Wood is also on the table too and your well aware of what type of bat he has.

Unfortunately, those players don't really strike us as interesting. Is there anything we could throw in to acquire one of your pitching prospects I mentioned earlier?

so quick question. I'm going to be running a boston chise (since they are my team that I rep (waiting til OSFM)) So my chise will be different than everyone else's so are we going off base rosters or what when we contact someone about a trade?

The rosters and statistics used during negotiations will be that of the poster who began the discussions.

Added to the OP. Thanks for reminding me.

ok cool. i went back and read the 2012 version for reference.

I can't wait to start my OSFM franchise to ask other gm's for trades.

If you are willing to throw in Jacob Anderson then we would be willing to part with a little more. By a little more, your looking at our 3rd rounder from 2012 Colin Rodgers. Rodgers isn't on a top 20 prospect list but I'm sure he's going to be pressing this upcoming season. He's undersized and has plus command of all three of his pitches. He's a high school kid but is going to move quickly with his development.

To be honest, we value Anderson much higher than we do Rodgers, but we would give back Dwight Smith, Jr. if you gave us Rodgers.

We understand that Smith is a toolsy player and a tremendous athlete but his swing really concerns me. Looking at film of him before the draft, he has a high leg kick which makes the pitch harder to time and he was hitting everything on the bottom half which equals massive popfly numbers and won't fly here in KC.

Do you have any other toolsy athletes you'd be willing to part with?

Hmm. We're already giving you Alford, who's tools are off the charts..

Moises Sierra is a good athlete and a strong runner. He hit well as a rookie who got promoted before he was due.

Gustavo Pierre is the 3B version of Sierra, but in High-A. I'm not sure if he'll be in OSFM, but I may even have some video of him from my trip out to Lansing last year.

Matt Dean is the 3B version of Jacob Anderson. Great athlete, plus tools, bad year last year.

Kenan Balli had a superb year across three different levels last year.

We like Dean but with a slew of bats coming up and with a Cuthbert and Moose battle likely in the future, I'd rather not add fuel to the fire so we're going to go with the toolsy Moises Sierra who should hopefully get some more seasoning at AAA and then replace Frenchy.
