    Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

I finally pick a team. I'm the cardinals and playing all 162 games. Right now I'm on may 3 I think. I'm beginning a two games series at cubs. I traded alot of minor leaguers to get veterans. I got now granderson, texiera, victor Martinez,Mariano Rivera, jeter, and Gardner.

      Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

3rd year with the Marlins, we went 79-83 in year 1, 63-99 in year 2, mid way through year 3 we're 49-35, 2nd in the NL East 6.5 behind Atlanta, and several games up in the wildcard.. Alot of young talent, with the Marlins and especially in the Minors.. All 8 starting non pitchers in AA Jacksonville are A or B potential.. With the Marlins all 8 non pitching starters are 80 or above except for Solano (78)..

      Lineup:

      LF- Christian Yelich
      2B- Eric Mortenson
      RF- Giancarlo Stanton
3B- Danny Levine (a 19 year old star)
      1B- Jake Marisnick
      CF- Marcell Ozuna
      SS- Donovan Solano
      C- Rob Brantley

Have a log jam of talented players in the outfield
      Favorite Teams:
NCAAB- Duke Blue Devils (Defending National Champs!)
NASCAR- Kevin Harvick (Defending Sprint Cup Champ!)
      NBA- Los Angeles Clippers
      MLB- Miami Marlins
      NFL- New York Jets
      NCAAF- Duke Blue Devils
      NHL- Carolina Hurricanes

        Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

        It happened.

July 19th, 2013. Rays were dead last 19GB of Toronto.
September 29th, 2013. Rays beat the Blue Jays 2-1 at Rogers Centre, breaking the first-place tie for the divison. Tampa Bay Rays are the AL East Division Champs.

Unbelievable end of the season. September was incredibly hard. The Rays were starting to struggle (Longoria and Zobrist were on a horrondeous slump), David Price was starting to fall short. Matt Moore couldnt get past the 5th. It seemed that the RaysMagic was starting to fall.

But it didnt. Entering september 27th, the last series of the season was going to start. There was a tie for the first place between the Bue Jays and the Rays. 3 game series. Rogers Centre. Price, Moore and Hellickson vs Morrow, Johnson and Buehrle. Team that wins the series wins the division. Magic.

The Rays are in the postseason, and will head to Detroit to start the ALDS. Blue Jays beat the A's in the WC Round and are going to play the Angels in the other bracket.

Should be an epic series. Price, 22-5 2.71 ERA squaring off against Verlander, 20-4, 2.33 ERA. Tigers ranked 4th in offense, leaded by once again MVP Miguel Cabrera (.323 42HR (leader) 138 RBI (leader) ) and batting title champ Prince Fielder (.344 36HR 112RBI)

Tigers were also second in the majors in ERA with 3.32.

        Let the Magic begin.

good stuff. Hopefully both you (Rays) and the Blue Jays make it to the ALCS.. That would really make for a great story in the playoffs, especially if you guys went to game 7.

                Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

I played yesterday Game 1 of the ALDS. Beat the Tigers 9-2. The first 5 innings was a battle between Price and Verlander. In the 2nd, Wil Myers hit a solo HR to CF to make it 1-0, however in the bottom of that same inning, the MVP Miggy Cabrera tied the game with a solo homer of his own. The pitching duel continued until the sixth, where Verlander surprisingly fall off out of a sudden.

Walk, Error, wild pitch, double, walk, single, triple.

A 5 run inning took Verlander out of the game and the Tigers were never able to tie again.

Game 2 will be Jeremy Hellickson squaring off against Max Scherzer

                    Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

I’m 30 games in my 2013 Yankees franchise (trying to play all 162). So far, I’m 11-19, 8GB in the AL East. I started the year out with realistic injuries, meaning Jeter, Granderson and Pineda out til late July - Early August, and Teix, Youk, and A-Rod (who i’m banning for LIFE) out for the season. My season has started off rough in the hitting department, and I lost a bunch of close games. Lately, it’s been a slugfest, as Sabathia, Pettitte and Kuroda can’t make it past 5 innings, while giving up 4+ runs and 10+ hits. Hughes and Nova have been dominant, although their records may not show. Wells is my primary DH, but it revolves around depending on who needs a day off. I hope to keep playing well through May, and if some players continue to struggle, I will be calling up some of the kids from AAA to give them a shot (like Corban Joseph, he has been quite a surprise so far).

                    Current Lineup:
                    CF Gardner .260 / 3 HR / 8RBI
                    RF Ichiro .216 / 0HR / 7RBI
                    2B Cano .307 / 10HR / 18 RBI
                    DH Wells .314 / 6HR / 15RBI
                    LF Almonte .286 / 3HR / 10RBI
                    1B Overbay .269 / 1HR / 8RBI
                    SS Nix .258 / 4HR / 7RBI
                    3B Joseph .298 / 1HR / 1RBI
                    C Cervelli .237 / 2HR / 4RBI

                    Bench:
                    C Romine .091 / 0HR / 1RBI (3 games)
                    IF Nunez .162 / 0HR / 2RBI
                    OF Boesch .313 / 0HR / 1RBI (16ABs)
                    IF Adam Kennedy (newly signed)

                    Pitching
                    SP Sabathia 1-3, 4.20 ERA
                    SP Kuroda 2-3, 3.99 ERA
                    SP Pettitte 0-4, 4.54 ERA
                    SP Hughes 1-1, 1.70 ERA
                    SP Nova 3-2, 2.53 ERA

                    BP Phelps 2-1, 4.50 ERA
                    BP Warren 0-2, 6.23 ERA
                    BP Chamberlain 1-1, 6.35 ERA
                    BP Logan 0-1, 6.23 ERA
                    BP Kelly 1-1, 4.66 ERA
                    BP Robertson 0-0, 1.80 ERA
                    CP RIvera 0-0. 4.50 ERA, 5 Saves

Other players who have been on the MLB Team:
-IF David Adams (played SS while Nix was hurt, back at AAA to get better ABs)
-OF Melky Mesa (called up for 1 series vs all LHP, sent back to AAA after series)
-C Chris Stewart (can’t hit with him, sent to AAA)
-BP Preston Claibourne, Vidal Nuno, Brett Marshall - (brought up Nuno, Claibourne and Marshall to keep a long relief option in the Bullpen after a rough stretch of having to overuse/spot start Warren and Phelps. Marshall didn’t pitch at all, Nuno and Claibourne did pitch a few innings)
-IF Alberto Gonzalez (released, weak bat, worse glove)
-OF Ben Francisco (released, never played a game, Mesa/Boesch is a better option)
-DH Travis Hafner (released, was 1-33 with him. Just could not hit the ball)

You said it, it happened. I swept the difficult Tigers (GM 1: 9-2; GM 2: 2-1; GM 3: 5-4) and the Blue Jays won the other series 3-1.

Tampa Bay Rays vs Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. What a great rivalry this has been. The best is yet to come.

How the heck did you make a "few trades" and get that bunch using the talent on the Royals? They actually have a really fun roster at default--lots of young players with high ceilings.

This has to be some sort of fantasy draft I think?

                            Boring.

At least up the difficulty a 0.51 ERA for a starter in Shelby Miller in june. LOL ya right.

of course it is and we are glad he is having fun. but its boring to read about. take it the TSN. personally i really enjoy reading others' true to life mlb the show experiences...especially the ones that play a full season and keep rosters relatively realistic.
