Change New RTTS Presentation

I've pretty much gotten use to just turning on sports radio when I play now, even better if there is a spring training game on. For me, I think the worst part is that I love Steve Lyons so much as a video game baseball announcer... He's great and yet I honestly almost never get any commentary from him.

Oh well, hope we have a choice next year.

So...if they changed the announcers in RTTS to make it more authentic, does that mean the between innings music continues to play until the next pitch like it use to do in 11? After all the PA music in a stadium wouldn't just cut off in real life if I'm at the game. In general, I miss how the innings music was in 11.

Yeah, so we lost the in game presentation for the sake of "realism", but at least we get a whoosh sound every time our player has an activity. Because the whoosh is so real!!! - and not one bit annoying

Bought it for the vita on Friday. Played a few RTTS games and absolutely hate the new presentation. I like to see the stat overlays of my team and the oppositions. It makes the season in my opinion more organic. Now its just the name on the PA. You are so far zoomed away from the player that you don't get to see their faces and makes the whole experience so dull. I loved remembering players in my RTTS12. It almost makes it unnecessary for you to have the full minors, because you really don't get immersed with the rest of the league now. If they decide to go with this same presentation next year, I would recommend them doing the player walkups and stats via zooming into the score board with a button press or something. Maybe holding L1 and L2.

For now I just can't see myself playing this new style and am selling it back to Amazon for $26.00 and continuing my RTTS12 career.

Yea, I've been playing more with the pitcher this year... it's still weird though when it wooshes out and there is no audio for a good 10 seconds, then they start talking and it gets cut off because the camera wooshes back out. Just very odd.

I really like RTTS alot and the 13 version takes a while to used too, I am okay with it and like the idea but I don't feel as immersed as they say I would. Maybe its just because I hit only, but the rest of 13 shines like a diamond and I love it. My thing is if I really need a RTTS fix I didn't get rid of my 12 copy or delete any files and I can still finish my career there if I so desire, so I am happy in both worlds.

I agree. It's different, if you want to hear commentary all the way through then you can play franchise mode. This gives you a different perspective. You can hear your coaches offering you instructions and encouragement as if you are on the field. I love it.

My only frustration is my AA pitcher is dominating the league and I can't get promoted!!!

I hated it the first time I tried it. Now I find it not so bad. I can take or leave the commentary because it's so repetitive.

I also miss the stat overlays on the walk-ups, which are now non-existent. What's the point in setting your walk-up? I have walk-up set to 'on' and I am immediately at the plate. Am I missing something?

That 'whoosh' sound has got to go. Absolutely horrible. I like the camera action, just get rid of the sound.

So I had an interesting game earlier today, I have read all over that the reason announcers don't talk anymore except on special occasions in RTTS is for realism. I am fine with this but I think personally there should be a on/off button for this, one of the things that made RTTS more fun for me was the commentary. Now it just tends to get alil boring at times.

Anyway the interesting part about this is I had a hit that was a fouled home run but the umpires had to meet to discuss it. After this the commentary started working constantly, not just when I did something special but also like if I took a ball or so on. So I know that the programming can allow it. Would really appreciate a patch to give us the option for this.

1.) Playing a MLB The Show game in broadcastmode or watching a reallife Baseball broadcast, both on your TV in your livingroom, is almost the same. You can not get closer to reality in a video game. Turning of commentary and cranking up the teammate's volume doesen't create a "on the field" experience. RTTS feels a bit like Hardball III 20 years ago.

2.) In germany, you can not give the game back because you don't like it. Once you opened it, you can only sell it on ebay. I play RTTS only. I payed 60€ just to miss about 90% of all the eyecandy and commentary that is in the game. I could not forsee, that the change for that mode would be that drastic! If i would have known........

3.) Why in the world do i have to choose my walkup style when they are not even willing to show it? That one is really weird.

This game dropped for me from a low 90's Rating to a high 70's. And, yes i know, that this is still the greatest game on earth if you don't Play RTTS!

The issue I have and since I know it only happens at certain times therefore I know it is a glitch with the RTTS sound. In RTTS mode, if I hit a home run that shows the home run animation there is always a replay but no commentary. If I hit a home run and start running the bases, there is always post play commentary. If I am pitching and the last batter pops or grounds out there is always post game commentary. If I strike out the last batter there is always the post game animation but no commentary. Also, i have hit a home run that the umpires reviewed and immediately after it will have a pitch by pitch commentary for the rest of the at bat. This tells me someone messed up the programming but for some reason everyone I spoke to about it thinks I'm an idiot.
