Re: Individual Stealing
What mode is this occurring in? Have you guys specifically tried targeting the base and pressing L1? I have only played exhibition and online and have not seen this issue.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Individual Stealing
I'm seeing it in a Playoff mode that I'm doing. I've tried just pressing L1 and also by targeting with the L-stick and L1. Nothing works. I've seen it multiple times. I'm not sure if I can steal in those situations because I haven't tried since I can't get that extra step. It happens both when just one guy is on base and when I have guys on 1st and 2nd. Haven't noticed it in a bases loaded situation yet. Last night I was able to lead off first for the first pitch of an at-bat, but not again the remainder of the at-bat. It's weird.

Re: Individual Stealing
All of them for me. Noticed it the very first game. "How come my guy's not moving?" when I hit L1.
Stumbled upon the double tap. Still a work in progress trying to figure it out, tho. Doesn't work every time, which is why it is so frustrating. I end up spending more time concentrating on the runner at 1B than the at-bat.Comment

Re: Individual Stealing
I know Sony is saving $$ and trees, but this is the exact reason on-disc-only controls menu is not a substitute for a game manual. They are NOT the same thing.
We have to come here and collectively try to figure it out. Shouldn't ever reach this point.Comment

Re: Individual Stealing
I finally figured it out (thanks to the show nation message boards). The key to stealing with runners on 1st and 3rd is you have to wait until the pitcher selects his pitch and gets set.
On classic base running you...wait till pitcher is set then press circle (for runner on 1st) as you are holding circle press and release L2 to steal. You should feel the controller vibrate. Release all buttons and wait for the pitch. The runner will go. If you want to take a lead with runner on 1st just press L1 instead.
As for default base running (I haven't tried it yet) but if you go by what the manual says you should (again after the pitcher is set) move the left stick to the right and press/release L2. Controller should vibrate and runner should steal.
Hope this helps

Count me in as well.I have had trouble getting the baserunner to increase his lead. I press L1- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I was playing '12 quite a bit and the issue did not present itself. Don't think it's my controller.
Baserunning has always been an issue. The controls are not intuitive. I've lost too many runners on the paths because it's hard to execute the controls. In my opinion it's the weakest part of gameplay.
Experienced it last night during an exhibition game.
Runner on 3rd but pressing L1 (also tried with targeting the runner) didn't do anything."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: Individual Stealing
I tried again last night with just one runner on base, holding L2 until rumble and letting go. Sometimes it worked and mostly it didn't work. After I stole second, I tried to steal third same way as before. It took me a few tries to get him to third, and he stole third base! Anyway, the important thing is there seems to be inconsistency for auto base running On and stealing bases.
At the very least, we need clarification on what to do with auto base running On and trying to steal a base.Comment

I spent a good hour at CD proving that I was the only one unable to take a lead. LOL! Ask Knight! I'd hit the button, nothing. I'd hand him the controller, and his fireman fingers were able to take that step EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Pass it back to Heroes...no dice.
Knight. Lead.
Heroes. My runner wouldn't move.
And it's still happening to me. LOL! I feel your pain. Here's a thought: Invite Knight to come over and play your Franchises with you. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas...

I don't have a problem taking a lead, it's stealing a base with auto base running On that seems buggy.Hmmm....just noticed this thread.
