Stealing seems to be working just fine for me. Sorry, I can't offer you any advice there.

I also use Auto baserunning, by the way.

So with auto base running on, they will steal on own or do I have to do it ?

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. I hold L2 and let go after the rumble. I was doing the same thing every time, but for whatever reason, doesn't always work.

The CPU will not steal for you. You have to do it.

With Auto Baserunning, is the CPU SUPPOSED to lead for you? They don't with me, though I honestly don't know if it's designed to work like that or not?

The CPU will take a short lead for you, but you would need to increase it by hitting L1. The CPU will not "continue" past the initial lead for you.

              Thanks.

Now, if I could actually take a lead I'd be in business!

You can keep hitting L1 and get that nice big lead, and then you can walk to the dugout after getting picked off!

I played 2 games tonite with auto baserunning and like Cav said it will sometime steal, but more often not.
I tried changing game speed, classic or default baserunning, holding button before pither is set, after he is set, single rumble, double rumble, etc. Bottom line is stealing & hit and run cue attempts for auto baserunning is broke. If this is an issue long term, that may shelve the game for me.
                  Hopefully this gets addressed.

I know in last years game I could just slowly squeeze down the L2 trigger and use it like a timing mechanism on the pitchers release to get my runner to steal and this year the the only way I can get a runner to steal it to click it down real fast which which gives me no jump at all on the pitch

I want the old light squeeze method back

You can tap L1 to lead and then use L2 to steal, L2 until the controller vibrates. The problem I've encountered is L2 doesn't always make him steal.

I feel that when I am using classic controls, leading off (L1) is very sluggish. I like to play mind games with the pitcher and lead off a little and step back toward the bag a little, then lead off a little, etc. This means a constant jostling of the L1 and R1 buttons, but because the controls are sluggish (meaning the runner does not move simultaneously with the press of the button but instead there is always a 2-second delay) it is hard to do this a la Rickey Henderson style. Is there a better, more responsive control scheme for base running?

I'm still having problems getting my guys to lead-off and steal when I want them too. I hadn't seen it in a while, but then last night I had a man on 1st and for the life of me I could not get him to steal. Ending up causing me to strikeout because I was so distracted trying to get him to steal. I think I tried on 3 different pitches to get him to steal.

Kind of unrelated but I've had problems with my catcher not throwing to a base on an attempted steal. I press the button but sometimes it doesn't register.

I post that here because I feel like the problems are related. The "window" of time during which certain commands actually work is too small and too arbitrary. There shouldn't be a "too early" time to input base throw command, nor should there be a "too late" time to input a steal.

not sure if this has been addressed or not in another thread...but I use auto baserunning but would like to manual steal my players. is this not possible in 2013? I could do it in previous years??
