Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
After considering many options it seems to come down to either the Indians or Royals for me.. Really tough decision, both have a pretty nice park, have an improved roster, the odds that they'll make the postseason are somewhat similar (IMO), they play in the same division and probably more similarities..
What would be your choice considering you don't favor any of the two in real life?Spending time with Jesus!

Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
I would take KC hands down.
The park is so enjoyable to play in. Every homer hit your curious of the landing spot. So much going on beyond the fences. And if you get to hear the " ker plunk ". The out field is big but even.
Franchise 3B , 1B , and catcher.
Fountains Fountains fountains !!
Plus a rising white sox team , improved indians , and of course the three headed monster that is Detroit. Good but not hard competition.
I'm not one to talk down on anything. But for pros and cons
The Indians have been just thrown together. They give this gritty feel team with Francona. But grit is earned. Who knows how these guys will actually play together. How will Trevor Bauer play.
Just my takeI play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Thanks man, great advice! You aren't the first to tell me to go with KC either so if nobody should show up here and convince me to take the Indians it will probably be the Royals in franchise mode for me this year..I would take KC hands down.

Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
I too plan on playing a 162 game franchise but as a met fan I feel like it might be miserable. I was thinking bout Washington cuz they're fun as hell to pitch with but I don't wanna beat up on my team 18 times. I made the playoffs last yr wit the mets so I could do it but we're probly worst this yr. should I stick with the mets or just go with another team?Comment

If you're gonna go with another team, you should play in a different division to make it feel more fresh. How about the A's, Dbacks, or Orioles?I too plan on playing a 162 game franchise but as a met fan I feel like it might be miserable. Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
There was an interesting post in this thread where it was suggested to take the two teams and let them play off CPU vs CPU, winner takes all franchise... I am a fantasy draft fan, however I want to try do a real franchise this year, I can't use my Red Sox as I can't seem to make moves or make poor moves because of attachment to players and I don't really see a clear cut team that I want to use, so I'm going to use the new playoff feature to figure out who I will use... I have chosen 5 AL and 5 NL teams to playoff for my franchise spot... AL wildcards are A's and the Jays, along with the Angels, Tigers and Rangers... NL wildcards are the Reds and Pirates, along with the Giants, Nats and Dodgers... Default rosters for now, will be using OSFM for the actual franchise though... Will post the results as they come...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
Very shocked to see how some teams are being discussed....
Angels do NOT have an easy road. They could miss the playoffs, especially since both wild cards should come from the east. A's never look good in video games, but they are very solid with a great staff. Rangers lost Hamilton but gained Berkman. Shouldn't miss a beat with that rotation.
Marlins look good?? They'll be lucky to win 70 games. Marlins, 'Stros and Twins fighting not to be the worst team in baseball. Cubs might get some of that action, too.
"Afraid to play the Yankees" ? I can't see them finishing higher than 4th in that division. They look really bad this season. Like...legitimately bad, not just Yankee bad.
"Cards are done"? If by done you mean have a great chance of winning the division if the Reds struggle even a little bit, then yeah, I guess they are done. I think Cards take 1st wild card.
You're also forgetting about the Rays. They have a great chance to win the East, and have a lot of talent to face all season. Get to play in Camden, Fenway, and Yankee Stadium. Rays lineup is one of the best, and they have Price at the top. Seems like exactly what you described.Comment

Rays would be fun, but if you're using them, you need to get out of that abortion of a park. I suppose you could use a classic park as your home.

3 things with the mets that jump out.
Johan is done again ? Would you like to continue to pitch with him in game and him be on the shelf IRL??
OF has got to go. So wht moves can you make? Then look at the mets and decide once your OF is set.
Hometown team = your hometown faves. There's some prospects at home that your curious ab and know their style of play. Even tho they jus prospects they don't travel to Washington with you. And is there any pitcher out there you want to play a whole season with besides Matt Harvey ??
Nationals world series or bust. But also some more great prospects.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
Looking to play a 162 game franchise with a team (no simming). Here is what I'm looking for: a team that has a good chance at making the playoffs, but is not the prohibitive favorite in their division. Either a nice stadium and/or good looking uniforms.
Here are teams I will not consider: Braves, Yankees, Rays, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Indians, Phillies, Cardinals.

Athletics. Nice unis. A good group of players. Stadium doesn't look special but its old school with a lot of history.Looking to play a 162 game franchise with a team (no simming). Re: A Help Pick A Team Thread
Two World Series in 3 years. Six elimination games in a row. All luck. Get out. Dodgers are overrated.I want to formally invite all of you to be Dodgers fans. After suffering many years under the McCrook regime, now is the time to join the "Magic" administration.
Look its over for the Yanks, Jeter is old, Tex hurt, Aroid about to be suspended, all you have is Mariano. Cubs? how long will you suffer? People have died waiting! Cards? Pujols is gone, Furki hurt, Carpenter done its over for the Cards. Mets? give me a break, Phils ha ha, Giants pure luck.
If you join today you don't have to feel guilty abandoning you team because I am inviting you to join our cause. Look at what we have: AGon, Kershaw, Matt Kemp, Hanley, Greinke, Ethier etc. Now you know that all former Dodgers Gibby, Scoiscia, Dusty, deep down you know that they bleed Dodger blue. So please join us for a great season and the rest of your life. You won't regret it I promise.Comment
