I'm only playing regular season games and playoffs. I have never played spring training games and I didn't include playoffs because I don't know the exact number of playoff games. I currently have a few games left on the third day of the season. It's been fun as every game is so different.
I just finished rosters where I edited all the players and I am about to set the Disabled List and add Free Agents to different team at my discretion. I am also going to apply Sean Jeezy's Pitch Edits to the Pitchers once he releases his 2013 Pitch Edits Spreadsheet.
Do you play games with the PS Vita also? How many games have you been playing per day and how long does an average game take? Do you play every game with Fast Play enabled and then maybe one or two games per day with Broadcast Presentation?
It would be cool if you took a few screenshots throughout the season and after each game, leave the score and winning/losing pitcher and who got the save in this thread; along with any spectacular happening, like a no-hitter or a guy hitting 3-home-runs.
That way, this thread would stay at the top of the forum and more people would keep in touch with what you are doing.
Also, how long are you expecting this will take? Are you doing any cpu vs cpu or are you playing every pitch of every inning?
I play every inning of every game. I try to play a game a day but having a family it doesn't always happen. Plus I'm a high school basketball coach so even though our season is over my work is never done. I play on normal mode. No fast pitch. Took me about a week to get everyone's 1st game in. I figure it will take me about 3 years. Maybe soon. Who knows. I'm a teacher so when school is out I might get to play more.
I don't have a vita and it takes me about 45 minutes to play a game. I have played 3 extra inning games so far as well.
Not sure. Just wanted to always do this. I get bored being the same team all the time.
I also find it boring to play a whole season as one team. I mean, I like the White Sox alot, but 500+ AB's with Jeff Keppinger isn't my idea of fun.
I devise a schedule where I play as each of the 30 MLB teams, and play one game a day. I play as each team six times (three home and three away) throughout the season. It takes about two weeks to refine the schedule to my liking. It's cool to be able to see all the stadiums & rosters of every team.
Are you going to leave us updates on what is happening?
Did you edit the pitchers or hitters?
Do you hit and pitch for just one team?
If I do this, I will just pitch with both teams and NEVER hit, not even for one Batter!!
I play as the home team in each game. That way I will play 81 games with each team. I couldn't think of a better way to pick my team. I don't edit anything unless your get a screen that says so and so needs a day off or got injured during batting practice. I was going to try and leave weekly updates as I finish each week of the season. Maybe biweekly instead. So far I have one game left on April 2. I also play each game in order of time scheduled. Kind of adds to the realism in my opinion. You don't want a 10:05 PM game ending before a 12:35 PM start.
Have you ever thought about getting a PS Vita? It will speed up the process of what you are trying to do.
No because I'm not really trying to see how fast I can do this. I love playing The Show and everything about it. My son is 14 months old so I enjoy playing with him as well. This gives me something to do in the evenings after he and my wife goes to sleep. It is just something I have always wanted to do. I know that the Show will be out for the PS4 next year and I know that I won't be getting one of those for a little while so this gives me something to do until I decide to purchase one.

I hope you meant 14 YEARS old. If not, then I'm jealous that all my 19 month old does it run over and press the "off" button only to power down in the middle of a game.

No 14 months old. We don't play The Show. We just play around on the floor. I only get to play games when him and mommy are asleep! 😄
If you average 2 games per day it will take you 3 years. That's not too bad if you are okay playing the same game for three years (it is a good game). I think the difference between what you say you will do and what some others may have tried was you are planning on playing every game controlling at least one of the teams. I would love to do 2268 CPU vs CPU fast play games plus 162 MoM slow play games. If I neglected the 7 month real world baseball schedule, I could likely do the 2268 + 162 games in a calendar year. But I want my 2013 season to mirror 2013 real world season day for day (give or take a few days when life gets in the way of gaming) and there are simply not enough free hours in my day what with work, other responsibilities and other interests.
