hmph... I'm confused. I NEVER place any pitches in the middle of the plate but it keeps happening to me. It doesn't bother me when a pitch will end up over the heart of the plate cuz that happens but it's really frustrating when I try to throw outside/inside (my analog stick goes left/right like it should) and then the cursor says I went straight up the middle (like not even a millimeter off the center) and my pitcher throws a bunch of meatballs... Oh well I guess I'll just have to get used to it since I hate using pulse, classic, and meter

^^ That happens to me sometimes also. Quite a bit actually. It's the primary reason I have to pitch on All-Star, even though I'm theoretically good enough to pitch on HoF... those accidental pitches down the middle just get destroyed by the Hall-of-Fame AI.

I think it's caused by the controller, but not in the sense that yours is defective.

The analog sticks on PS3 controllers just aren't very sturdy, and the towards-the-center pull is probably what causes this to happen (since even the smallest tilt above the neutral position is read as "up"). To illustrate what I mean, try running the analog stick from "southwest" to "northeast" in a smooth, straight line.

Hopefully the PS4 analog sticks are better.

In the meantime, try flicking the stick quicker to avoid this, or try cheating towards your intended direction before you flick up. (So if you're trying to aim to the top right corner... bring the stick down and to the right, instead of just straight down).

Interesting, I've noticed the opposite to work for me (if you want to flick toward 1:30, first pull to 7:30).

          I'll have to try that.

I used to use Pure Analog a lot, but I kept getting frustrated that sometimes you'd push left or right and it would go right down the middle. I have yet to use Pure Analog in 2013, I made the switch to pulse pitching midway through last season.

I play on Legend and Legend AI definitely DEMOLISHES, DESTROYS, DEVASTES, and DISMANTLES you whenever you make the slightest mistake lol... That's very interesting, I always thought you were supposed to go straight back. I tried both and they do seem to cut down on those middle pitches but they also seem to miss a lot further out/in than I want, probly just need more practice... Thanks!

                Re: Pure Analog Pitching

Analog is by far my favorite. I like it because I feel like I control the pitch and its location and effectiveness more than any other medium. The other modes, in my opinion, give the CPU too much leeway into the location/effectiveness of your pitches strictly based on confidence level.
