    Double play errors


    Does anyone experience lots of bad throws to second that go in the outfield when trying to turn a double play?

    This got my attention since 12 and seems to be still there. At least too much to my taste.

    Throwing pure analog by the way.

    This happened 3 times in 2 innings last game. And I know I pushed the analog stick pure north all three times!

    I am on HOF analog and have not seen any issues. Is the player you are using have a low rating where his accuracy slice is small? OR do you find it is an all around issue no matter who you use?

      I use the new Button Accuracy interface and it is on all star difficulty, and I have had no problem with what you are experiencing.

        I'm on all star button accuracy and while I haven't seen it happen to me, it seems like I've seen a number of overthrows to first on the back end of a DP by the computer. I'm using TNK's slider set and the errors are at default so I may move them down a notch.

          I also use Pure Analog and I have noticed this since last year as well. I thought it was just me in my haste to turn double plays, but it seems to happens way too often. And I don't think the skill of the fielder plays a role because this happens with all infielders when throwing to 2B to start the DP.

            I've noticed this in my RTTS mode in Triple A this year. I'm shortstop, our second baseman is Scott Sizemore and he tends to throw a lot of double play balls into left field. I've also noticed that when trying to get to second base to catch the incoming throw for someone trying to steal second, the animation is off sometimes and allows for the computer player to steal second a lot more than it should.

              Yea you kinda have to loop to second base to trigger the correct animation

                I'm on All-Star and Jeter was the one to blame. This game at least. I know he's getting old but not THAT old

                And I meant it as an all around issue because I've seen it happen a little bit too much for my liking.

                  So instead of running directly to the base, you suggest I loop behind it and run forward to it? I'll have to give that a shot. Thanks for the suggestion

                      There was no change to the analog throw meter this year. What color did the player marker turn after your throw input? Green means you pushed the stick close enough to dead on for an accurate throw. Yellow means you were a little off, and you will likely make an offline throw. Red means you were way off, and you will make a wild throw. The amount you can "miss" by and still make an accurate throw is dynamic and depends on the fielder's arm accuracy attribute, throw distance, throw type, etc.

                        I have noticed it...I have had a 3-5 errors trying to turn a 5-4-3 DP. Also CPU has been pulled off the bag when trying to turn a 4-6-3 also a couple times also.

                        It has happened more times then I cared for, so yes I have seen this.

                        I have played about 15-20 games total.

                          One thing that is different from last year is a red throw does not automatically mean the ball is getting launched over the fielder. I have seen more diversity as far as throws in the dirt and catches that pull fielder off a base etc. I am sure it has to do with adding more specific fielding animations. It adds a nice feel to the fielding seeing all the diversity.

                            I've had the CPU throw a couple over the 2b head, however the few I've messed up have been my fault not bad throws. So with about 3-4 CPU mess ups threw about 40 games or so, no can't say I've seen thus one.
