Thanks for the comments. I believe the Astro's will be the team. I was just looking for a hard project because I think it will be so rewarding to get them built up to contend for the title. That is of course just my opinion. Good luck to all of you when you get around to tackling your franchise's.........GAME ON!

The Astros are an extremely difficult rebuild challenge. However, I have found a step by step solution to rebuilding them in two years:

Step 1) Get a Job
Step 2) Get paycheck from for mentioned job
Step 3) Go to playstation store and spend $5 dollars from for said paycheck for a 120 million dollar payroll boost.
Step 4) Repeat step 3 to boost payroll by 240 million
Step 5) Go to Free agency and sign every single to player
Step 6) Win!

Of course I am kidding with this post, but the astros are looking really bad (Pre Knight rosters). There top prospects are like 25 and have really bad overalls. This is the only way I see you improving them before it gets boring and you switch to another team.

The Astros ballpark is pretty whack. I don't think I would want to play half my games there. It's a cool environment to watch a game in real life but the strange lines would drive me crazy.

NOT that the Marlins are better. Lord that is the worst ballpark in baseball. It's green screen green. Green screens are that color because it's so rarely used that is keys out easy... LOL... and the Marlins painted the entire ballpark that color. Must have been a sale on that color since no one buys it.

(The A's ballpark is a close second for worst ballpark. At least the Marlins TRIED to make a cool park but the A's just have a butt ugly ballpark. No character at all to it. Just a functional box.)

As far as gameplay goes, I'd research the team with an amemic offense. It seems to me so far that this game is very hard offensively and very easy pitching/defense. I do use pulse pitching so that probably makes it easier. I hardly ever score many runs and I never seem to be able to string together a rally of any sorts. I may score 4 runs but it's usually one run here one run there. I never score more then 2 runs in a inning. But pitching seems extremely easy as does defense. All my games thus far have been 2-1, 3-2, 1-0 type of games.

So picking a team like let's say the Cubs, Mariners, or the Astros would certainly be a challange. Some other not so bad but offensively inept teams would be the Padres and even the Dodgers struggled to score last year.

I'm biased being an A's fan. I hate the current stadium, but Miami just made their stadium and it is awful. The A's stadium was actually pretty nice before Al Davis moved the Raiders back to Oakland and had that monstrosity built in the outfield. So, while I despise the current A's stadium and hope they make it to San Jose, Miami's situation (and owner) are a joke.

I think Houston is still the worst team as they were last year. I played with them for '12 since I actually like the stadium, but I used the fictional rosters rather than trying to attempt that rebuild.

I'm going to go outside the box a bit (as I don't particularly disagree with the typical choices of the Marlins and Astros).

The Twins are pretty bad in The Show. I know they have Mauer, Morneau, and Willingham; but pickings are slim after that (Plouffe against lefties and ummmm Doumit sometimes and well....you get the idea). They have some intriguing minor league guys (once they are added in), but their MLB roster is not all that pretty.

The starting pitching staff at the major league level is brutal....it's a whole heckuva lot of mediocre strike throwers that don't typically translate well on a game. The back end of the bullpen is OK; especially if you go with a less traditional approach (i.e. you don't use your closer only in save situations but use him to put out fires).

They may not be the worst team in real life, but unless you can capitalize big time with the big three; you will be scratching out runs to overcome those 5 run deficits you give up in the first inning.....

Edit: I typically use classic pitching, so I can't paint the corners like I would as readily using one of the other interfaces....it really makes those strike throwing SPs even more brutal.

I think the Astros have an awesome ballpark.

It would be fun trying to build the Cubs up but I don't think they are necessarily the worst team. The Mets are poor but not awful, they have Neuwenhuis, Duda, Santana, good pieces you can work with.

'Stros in a landslide. My team is horrid - and like already stated, best player is a Lannsiter who can't hit HRs. Weak pitching, hitting and so - so Farm. All aggravation team 2013.

Astros take the crown for me.
As for the ballparks, Minute Maid has always been one of my favorites to play In. Marlins Park without neon green walls and that..... thing in center wouldn't be bad either, but nothing is worse than O.Co.

Their offense may keep them just out of "Worst Team" status, but I would like to nominate the Rockies as the worst "Pitching" team in the game. They are absolutely pathetic.

I dunno after starting a test chise with Miami... after their first year they have so many arb guys that you end up using most of your cap and you can't grab a FA.

I'm running two franchises, one with the Braves the other with the Astros.

Toughest part about rebuilding the Astros is the pitching is just absolutely terrible. I've going through one season by simulating and putting together a good draft class. My offseason moves consisted of signing Kubel and Konerko, trading for Rasmus and Drabek, and getting Billy Hamilton in the Rule V draft. I also signed Nathan and Betancourt for dirt cheap (they both regressed heavily after the 2013 season, I guess due to age)
