Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
Odd, I hope someone answers this for you. I've never done 30 team control but I'm curious to know why this would be happening as I'm going to start my first one in a couple weeks or so. I'm sorry I couldn't help you personally but maybe I cleared up what you were saying so you can get the correct answer to your quary...T.K.Comment

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
30 team control. Two profiles created. One for the team I control with everything set to MANUAL, and one for the CPU teams with everything set to AUTO. Played three seasons on The Show 11 with the Cardinals, no trades. And I'm through three seasons in The Show 12 as well and there's been no trades except for the ones I initiated. Like I said before teams do sign free agents, waive and pick up players and even put players on the trade block, but no deals are proposed to me or other CPU teams.Comment

Do you know how to zip up a franchise file?..and host it?
You can host it here..
www.sendspace.com and just copy and past the link here.
I'll check it out.

Yeah, I think I know how to do it. I'll PM the link to you once I've done it (right now watching NBA). No rush really, since I'll be starting a new franchise once an updated roster for 12 is released. Apparently one is being worked on by a member of OS.Weird.

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
Dumb question...do you set up the seperate profiles under user settings > mode specific ?
I basically created 3 profiles..
1 for me (karlic) manual everything
1 for CPU auto everything
1 for CPU auto everything except lineups/rotation in case I want to adjust the line ups befor my game
I will also leave CPU roster control to off since I want the CPU to initiate trades. Am debating whether or not to set 40 man roster to manual or auto.PSN: ckarlic

Yes....in that same page is the place to assign the profiles to teams.Dumb question...do you set up the seperate profiles under user settings > mode specific ?

Just make sure that yours is set to default(also on the same page)
I would set it to Auto....you can just go to any team page(without changing anything) and make a 40 man change or roster move...it will allow you to do it.

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
Ok got it. Thanks! I also noticed in the test franchise I just started up that I'm able to adjust other team's lineups and pitching rotations without having to set the profile where I have lineups set to manual to the team I'm playing by just going to that team' s page even though I have the team's profile set to auto everything. Just a heads up.Yes....in that same page is the place to assign the profiles to teams.

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
For those of you who say 30 team control is time consuming.. What do u do that makes it so difficult? I just want to do it to veto bad trades. I don't see how that could take a lot of time.Comment

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
I know Knight listed the steps he took to get his 30 team control set up but just in case anyone was curious, this is sort of a step by step of what I did/will do when I start my Franchise. It is similar to the way Knight set his up with a little more detail:
1) At the main menu of the game, go to user setting and create a new setting/profile. I called it "ckarlic" since it will be the one I use for my team (Yankees)
2) After naming my profile, I adjust the gameplay the way I want it (Difficulty, hitting type, etc)
3) I then go to Mode specific portion of the user setting (ckarlic) and make sure everything is set to manual
4) I set my profile "ckarlic" to default
5) I then create another profile/setting and call it "CPU".
6) I set all the mode specific options for the "CPU" profile to Auto
7) I then go to create/start a new Franchise
8) I hit the square button to select all teams. When i do this, since my profile is set to default, it applies my profile to all the teams. Since I don't want to "control" all teams moves, I go to each team and move the right stick until the profile shows up as "CPU"
9) Once this is done, i hit start to advance to the next screen. I keep everything at Default and make sure CPU Roster control is set to "OFF" since I want the CPU to initiate Trades and let injuries just happen. Also make sure Instant trades is Off since you want to have enough time to approve/disprove a trade if you want
That should be all that you have to do
NOTE: Initially, i created a 3rd profile for the CPU with everything set to auto except for lineups/rotations. I did this bc I read what Knight posted in this thread regarding adjusting the CPU lineup/rotation since I wanted to have the ability to adjust lineups for the team i will play against if I didnt like the way the CPU had it set up (IE. David Ortiz playing first base...) I found that this was not necessary as even with the cpu profile set to Auto for everything, I was still able to adjust the lineup/rotation of the opposing team by just going to the team's homepage (R2/L2) and navigating to the manage roster section and adjusting the lineup there. For example, let's say im the Yankees and I play the Red Sox, I will go to the Red Sox homepage and check out their lineup. If it doesnt look right, I will make adjustments to them (and make sure Ortiz is not playing 1st base
)
Hope all this makes sense. I havent started my Franchise yet (waiting for the OSFM roster set) but this is the way I will set mine up. If things don't work as intended (meaning if the CPU isnt initiating trades) , I will just restart my franchise hoping that im not too far into yet.

Re: Franchise withOUT using 30 team control
thats what i thought too and i spent quite a long time adjusting every teams lineups and rotations just to see them get jumbled back up once i start a game...i think this is an issue that cant be resolved until a future version of the show when hopefully AI is improvedI know Knight listed the steps he took to get his 30 team control set up but just in case anyone was curious, this is sort of a step by step of what I did/will do when I start my Franchise.
