I have a question. In MOM during the countdown clock the batter's contact and power ratings on the screen are not vs lhp or rhp but instead an average of his ratings vs both lhp and rhp. For example a batter with contact vs rhp of 80 and contact vs rhp of 20 will be listed as contact of 50 regardless of whether the pitcher is left-handed or right-handed.

Is that simply a graphics error or is this they way contact and power are calculated in MOM?

If I'm not mistaken, they used the avg of the player's rating on the screen last year also.

Anybody seeing alot of pickoffs?Ive played about 40 games and had my guys picked off 8 times!Seems like alot,but maybe i've just been to aggressive.

I haven't seen my players get picked off too often but it seems like they know when I'm about to steal because it seems to me they only throw it to first when I attempt to steal.

The game is not set up to throw over on a "normal" lead.

The pickoff attempt(not always though) is only chanced to trigger on a steal lead(extra lead)

So in essence...it does know...but it's not an automatic throw over every time.

I believe auto def still doesn't work this year.

Is there anyway I can preset my def where my team will get into DP position automatically when there is man on 1st with less than two outs?

I still really don't get how "always" and "one batter" works either...

When I use "always", what I do is I set my positions against particular player when game starts (3rd baseman drag bunt for fast players, shift OF and IF if he's pull hitter) thru the whole lineup and I leave it alone.

I'm still baffled how one inning and one batter works. I swear I have times where I put my players in DP position and by NEXT PITCH, they're back to normal position.

The question is whether that is simply a graphics thing or if those are the actual attributes applied to the batter in MOM. Hoping for a reply from Brian.

It's still not set...
Perhaps when the CPU defensive setup bug is fixed, so will this one(since I believe the game "thinks" both teams are really CPU teams.

Holliday, Freese, Beltran, all are ice cold, and have been for about a month. Is there anyway to turn them around? Thanks.

I've played 29 games in my Giants franchise and i'm 12-17 Team Era 3,37 team batting average .229.I'm trying to figure a way out of my slump as well.

If the opposition is also only getting 3-4 hits per game, then I guess you need to re-visit your CPU slider settings to increase the offense in your games. However if it is just your team, you can edit certain player attributes in the hope of improving them. Of course how far you go editing player attributes will effect the game and will effect any realism you hope to have. Of course the player attributes are from their past performances and there are a number of players who are on fire right now in the real world and the game will never reflect these improved performances without us modifying the player's skills.

PS: I am five games into my 2013 season and my star offensive player (Carlos Gonzalez) is off to a terrible start. He is hitting well below .200 with more strike outs than I care to remember and I am tempted to sit him in the next game just to see if this helps end his horrible streak in this game. I have a few other players who are also not living up to their real world performances (of course the real world team is on fire offensively), but I don't think Cargo's slump in my games is slider related. I am guessing the game just randomly chooses to make certain players cold at certain times of the year.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure whats going on really. My whole team strikes out almost 10 times per game. Holliday, Freese, even Craig can't hit anyone. I've tried resting them, benching them and re-arranging them in the lineup over and over. The computer can score no problem, so I guess maybe I'll try and edit the players settings. I know when I view my staff the hitting coach has an adverse affect on their ratings, so maybe that has something to do with it as well.

Does it matter in manager mode what level the game is at? I originally had it on veteran for both hitting and pitching and was seeing a lot of high scoring games, changed it to all star for both hitting and pitching and now I'm seeing almost exclusively low scoring games.

I also have guess pitch set to off.

Anybody have any input on this?
