Please help...
When you go to USER SETTINGS.....there will be the profile listed on the top of the page...you can cycle with the R1/R2 buttons. You can change the options for each profile there. ...Gameplay has the INJURIES option on it...MODE OPTIONS have the rest...including lineups/rotations.
This page is also where you assign the profiles(PROFILE SETTINGS ASSOCIATION)

Well I just did the 3 profile setup Knight spoke about and it was very easy.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to doing this though? I don't know all of the reasons people do it.
Really none Dook.....you don't have to do a thing this year(really...nothing!) if you don't want if you put it all to AUTO. It will even draft automatically now(which was the one caveat in the past)

    Yes.....correct.

I'm nearly positive that your settings dictate the games played.
The CPU vs. CPU games are all on the ratings and default settings(SCEA)

But I wanted to ask one more time to get clarification...

I usually try to go in and place prospects at AAA and AA (depending on age and potential) so that they will develop accordingly... If I understood Knight correctly, I could theoretically place all A potential prospects in Single-A and they would develop just fine without playing games?

Is this true? Am I wasting time ensuring prospects are getting correct playing time and not on the bench somewhere? Will they develop into their potential either way.. I thought allowing them to play provided them the chance to get "hot" or "cold", which could affect their potential. Will this happen if they are in Single-A???

What if I just placed the prospect in AAA or AA but allowed the CPR to handle lineups and rotations and the player was slotted to pinch hit only... Will this affect development (can they get hot or cold and affect potential in this role) What about a starter that is coming in from the bullpen at AAA/AA?

    Thanks for any help.
Okay...the only thing that MAY be different is for the possible potential changes(and on this I'm not sure)
I think there was a little "gimmick" in the past(not sure if it still works)...was to get a "hot" player and place him in Single A...he would remain "hot".

But as for actual progression....level doesn't matter right now. You can't really help or hurt a player for year to year progression by changing which level he is on....it's all on potential and training.

Correct....the CPU will always look to the 40 man player for a replacement for an injured player first.

I see you don't have to draft for the other teams this year in 30 team control, awesome.

        Knight,

Any update on that 40 man issue with the contracts being changed to one year deals? I checked my franchise I'm doing and I've got at least two guys (Tex and A-Rod) who are now on one year deals because of the issue.

          No...sorry.

The only way to avoid it was to have them on the 40 to start.

I am trying to eliminate messages for teams. I deleted messages for all the teams. I unchecked all the boxes on the left that describe what messages are to be displayed. There is one box top-left that says Notifications On, and it has a check mark. Is there a way to take out that check mark for Notifications On?

I think there is a bug with this as I turned off all messages and still get them.

No you see you are confusing it. You can't get rid of the messages. You can only turn off notifications of certain messages (yellow blinking mail link). That's what the box on the top left is telling you. Check which types of messages you want to enable notifications for, and uncheck the ones you don't...

But I took out the check-marks for all of them and still get messages. So why am I getting messages when all those boxes do not have check marks? Are you saying I can't get rid of that blinking light by unchecking all boxes? I'm talking about the boxes that describe what type of messages are to be displayed.

No. You cannot turn off messages. You will always get messages. Taking the check mark out of the boxes just means you won't get a notification (yellow blinking mail icon) for that particular kind of message. You will always still get messages...

But I got the yellow blinking light for notifications that were not turned on. What I am trying to do is prevent that yellow blinking light from blinking because of other teams. I wouldn't care if other teams got messages, as long as I didn't get that yellow blinking light when looking at my team.

Ok my apalogies the way you worded it, I thought you meant messages when what you actually mean is notifications. I know what you're saying too, I've noticed this in every version of The Show. Maybe you have to turn off notifications for every single team? I don't know. If you think it's a bug it's not going to get fixed so I think your best bet is to not worry about it. The message notification icon flashing has never, ever bothered me. I check messages when I want. Most are pretty useless anyway...

I did try turning off notifications for all the teams, except the one I control. Looks like I'll have to endure the ferocious yellow blinking light

Sounds like it's just something that has to be dealt with. Maybe the devs will change it next year.
