Re: Rangers Uniforms
What baffles me is if the style guide is the end all be all why don't teams in real life have to follow it?
And if some of the problem is artwork then it really doesn't add up. If scea must follow the guide word for word then incorrect artwork on the uniforms would be breaking the rule because the uniforms wouldn't match the style guide.
Just because a team wears it on the field, doesnt mean its in the style guide. And just because its in the guide, doesnt mean its on the field.
Teams release what they want companies to use and make money off of.
So if the Cubs dont want anyone to recreate the 1908 jersey, they dont put it in the guide or they create an alternate 1908 jersey for those companies to use so that the actual 1908 jersey remains an on-field exclusive that no one can recreate...... LEGALLY.
Not to mention that Majestic and Cooperstown collection are the only 2 OFFICIAL makers of these jerseys. If every company that had the style guide could make the same jersey and sell it for $50, why would anyone ever buy the real thing for $150+?
Its called exclusive licensing, which SCEA does not have.Comment

Re: Rangers Uniforms
Wouldn't the same style guide go to MLB 2K games? Why do they get the uniforms right?Comment

Re: Rangers Uniforms
It is amazing to me the number of people who can not comprehend the issues that SCEA faces. There are people who have first hand knowledge of what SCEA goes through who tell the truth about the MLB Style Guide and some posters still call it bunk.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Rangers Uniforms
This make more sense than any of the other things I've heard as far as the uniforms being incorrect. No one has ever mentioned exclusive license on here before, or at least I've not seen it mentioned. This is a lot more logical then just saying "they have to follow the style guide".Comment

But they do have to follow the style guide.... the one they're given.
2K has a different license so they have a different guide.Comment

The easiest way for the devs to fix this going forward would be to link all undergarments like undershirts and primary accessory colors to the color of the socks that are being worn when you choose the pants. Instead of linking those colors to the tops that you choose. Also the batting helmet color needs to be linked to the color of the cap that is chosen. That is unless they choose to add a 4th section to the uniform select screen, but I think my method would be the most logical.
The Rangers have changed up their uniforms so often since 2010 when they brought the red back that I feel that it's just gonna confuse the people over at SCEA and we will wind up going through the same thing we did with the screwed up Ranger colors that we got with MLB 09-11, where the batting helmets are and undergarments are completely different than the rest of the uniform.

Re: Rangers Uniforms
Ok I am still confused with all this griping and complaining going around in circles! Can you play with the Rangers home white uni's and red batting helmets or not????? I can get the red field caps and socks but the batting helmets are still blue............... Any way around this is all I wanna know...............Comment

Re: Rangers Uniforms
There is no workaround for the red helmets as they are linked to the jersey and not the hat.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks
