Re: Getting hard to even play a game

Do you expect to win every game?
And if not, how do you expect to lose the games you lose?

Would you find it any more realistic to never lead in a game you lose?

Think about it...the game isn't over after 5 innings.

Add me to the list of the players who have changed positions on the comeback code. The first month of having the game, the cpu scored every time I scored. Then someone on here told me to get better and stop complaining. I did that, and now every game is different. I have won 10 to zero, and also been up 6 to 0 and lost in extra innings.

The CPU will pick up on what you are doing so you have to switch it up around the 6th inning. Even in real life hitters are better thier 3rd time at bat.

I didnt change what i was doing.
        Exactly.

Hitting a baseball is tough so hitters are going to try to find any pattern they can to try to gain a competitive edge. By only averaging seven pitches over five innings, you might have been able to play on their patience the first half of the game and get ahead, but the second to third times around the order, unless you change it up, you will get shelled.

But I'm calling shenanigans on the no comeback code.

Sometimes you have to throw the same pitch back to back, or even back to back to back to throw off the CPU, even in the same spot, at times.

Also, when the CPU comes back on you, it's not coded that way,
it's that your code has been compromised.

Re: Getting hard to even play a game

In past games I might agree a bit with the OP but MLB 13 is pretty much as good as it gets AI wise and every time I wanna adjust a slider I stop as this game is near perfect for me on Allstar default using classic pitch timed hitting .

OP I know its frustrating but you gotta throws balls even borderline pitches or you will eventually pay and dont be afraid to walk the cpu and your game will really expand .

Its all about balanced and I noticed I wasnt getting alot of hit power of late when batting so I raised Hu hit power 1 click and my whole game opened up but not for the better as it was a cheap way out instead of me being more patient at the plate so I started to dominate way too much .
I guess my point is be happy it sounds like your sliders are good to go so now just be smarter and you should have great battles to come and I get as many Ks using my non confident pitches as my confident ones as I change speed and location and dont always count on the API if you use it .

              Good Luck !

Not everyone can be the Orioles. **** happens and you just gotta forget it and move on to the next game, that's the beauty of baseball, anything can happen at anytime.

Re: Getting hard to even play a game

If you're only at 37 pitches in 5 innings, then the issue is you're throwing everything down the middle of the plate and the CPU is starting to just swing at everything b/c they know it will be a strike. I've never had any instances where I thought there was a comeback code. Every game feels realistic

As I posted in another thread like this (http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s-answers.html)... The threads below should be required reading for all that play The Show.

Also, to piggy-back off of loganmorrison1's post... If someone is throwing just 37 pitches in 5 innings.... might as well be tossing BP or putting the ball on a tee for the CPU.

I just had this happen today, Mets Vs Twins, Dillon Gee pitching a gem, 4th inning varrying pitches, actually throwing balls, not all strikes, Mauer, Morneau, both get doubles, Willingham hits a 2 run bomb, Dozier hits a solo shot, and finally got out of the inning! After that only gave up one more hit the rest of the game! It happens, nothing you can do about it! Ended up losing 4-2! Tough luck!

The most interesting part of your post is that you got through 5 innings with 37 pitches.

Let's do the math ...7 pitches per inning. Assuming no hits at all, that's an average of 2.3 pitchers per batter for five innings.

Don't hear you complaining about this highly "unrealistic" result that favored you.

I suggest anyone having a hard time come complain in this thread. The baseball gods have blessed me ever since i made it. The CPU cant comeback cause i get to many runs for them to do so. And ive thrown 2 complete game shutouts and a 1 run complete game.

You have to pitch like you would as if you were are real pitcher. Use two pitches your first time through the order. When you start getting hit the second or third time through mix them up and add in another pitch. Third and fourth time through the order add in another pitch.
