SP does go quickly. Very repetitive tho.
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

Agreed. But how is that different from batting. I don't like to play defense with my guy if I'm a hitter. I wish you could just be a DH!

DON'T do 1B! I grew up playing the position and have almost always chosen it in years' past for RTTS. This year is just not fun. There are way too many quirks that are just buzzkills.

The simple task of covering first base after bouncing off from holding a runner is nearly impossible. The player runs past/by/near the bag, often making the fielder delay his throw.

A 3-6-3 double play is not at all possible (or at least I've never seen one, dating back a few years).

Debating starting anew with a SS or OF to hopefully have a better experience.

Any tips for OF's would be greatly appreciated.

Alright I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was just trying to look around with the right stick, but you actually have to click it in and it will show you the landing point of the ball. I've been fielding much better since I realized this.

Wow thanks for sharing. I had no idea about this. It makes playing outfield a lot more enjoyable.

I actually find Outfield to be pretty smooth even without the right stick thing above (which I didn't know about).

I have a CF RTTS and I've never missed a ball I should have caught.

That being said, after a few months CF got REALLY repetitive. Fly ball fly ball fly ball fly ball fly ball fly ball ground ball throw to the cutoff man throw to the cutoff man throw to the cutoff man. You rarely are ever actually involved in any defining plays, or get any assists or anything. I'd strongly recommend against making an outfield position your regular position.

If I could do it over I'd definitely pick 2B or SS

I've only done one RTTS and I was a closer.
If I did another RTTS, I'd do closer again.

Every position is going to be repetitive after a while.

I had a SS I played for 2 full seasons, and it was always ground ball, throw to 1st, ground ball, throw to 1st, ground ball, throw to 1st. Double play ball, flip to 2nd. Double play ball, flip to 2nd. Double play ball, cover 2nd and throw to 1st. Cover 2nd on a steal attempt. Cover 2nd on a steal attempt. Cover 2nd on a steal attempt.

I never once even had the opportunity to flash the leather on a diving stop/throw to 1st or anything cool like that, it was always just routine grounders. For 2 full seasons.

So I think the repetitiveness can go for any position. At least I've noticed with my CF I've had some opportunities for diving catches/robbing home runs which are cool. And I've had a few assists where I threw a guy out at home plate. My guy doesn't have a strong arm yet, so I imagine once i get his throwing power up to cannon status I'll be able to throw out more guys.

                    Re: Most Fun Position RTTS

Yeah I think every position will get pretty repetitive at some point. I always seem to find myself going back to a 2B though. It seems to have a lot of variety compared to other positions.

I get diving play opportunities, mostly for ground balls, but I have made a couple of diving catches on line drives... those were cool.

You get the double play ball, covering steals, playing infield-in, ect. You can also turn the double play by slapping the tag on the runner going to second and throwing it to first.

I played 2B for about 8 or 9 seasons in last years game and then I decided to try out an outfield spot. Just from someone describing it, it would seem like the outfield would be much more boring... but I had a lot of fun with it. Diving plays in the outfield are awesome, and robbing home runs were extremely satisfying. It was also fun gunning runners out at the plate, or trying to go 1st-3rd on a single.

In the end I enjoy 2B the most, but I think outfield is pretty fun too. My primary position is 2B, secondary...... OF

I have a SS and going to make an outfielder tonight. In mid April my SS tore something in his foot, and was put on the 60 day DL list, so i didn't return till July. So, i have no idea when ill be called up as a SS. He is more of a gap hitter with speed. I want more of a slugger, so im going to make a RF with secondary positions CF,LF.

I have heard OF is challanging, but that's good though, because infield defense can get quite easy just get the ball and throw it to 2nd or first. I really enjoy taking it to the bag myself and getting the DP and picking of SB opportunities. My SS has 90 speed, so he gets to the bag in no time.

I like 1B with manual catch on. I think its the only position where you have to catch throws on defensive plays manually. Like the out on first or relay / cutoff. Fun and rewarding.

                              Welcome mate!

I do agree with every position can be repetitive after awhile but easily my favorite positions are 2B/SS and LF. I find LF very enjoyable because I feel you get the most action out of all the other Outfield positions. Also just started a pitcher and that is pretty awesome as well but can be really frustrating watching your teammates acting like bumbling idiots in the outfield, of course I expect this to change when I get called up from AAA.
