anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
it seems that I tend to get a lot of pop up dropped in the OF on balls that should be easily caught. I line up everything perfectly then for some reason the OF goes crazy runs in a circle and just misses the ball. it usually costs me a run. Its happened at least 10 times in 25 games.Tags: None -
Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
I don't know if I can say "a lot" but I do see these types of errors more than other types. A good 30-40% of my errors are dropped fly balls. I had two in one game this morning.
In the future I'd like to see more errors on foul catches, bobbles on transfers, short hop issues (other than the silly one where it goes over you), etc... so that this isn't the only type of error we see on the fielding side. -

I've seen them on double plays... I've never seen a dropped transfer in any other play or situation.Comment

Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
I don't see it that often. The most frequent errors I see are throwing errors, or the "I'm scared of the ball" one hopper animation.Comment

Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
With the latter, do you have Fielder Reaction slider at default? That animation is tied to reaction time. If the fielder has a poor reaction or you've lowered the slider, you'll see it more.Comment

Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
I am okay with fly balls as I think I have only run into one or two errors on pure fly balls in my so odd 50 games I have played in 13. I have noticed that when a hard liner is hit to my outfielders they tend to stand there like a blind man and let the ball fly over there head without attempting an EASY catch. The worst part about this is that I am running up to make the catch and the ball probably could knock the hat off my fielder so when he doesn't catch it the ball hits the wall and my fielder is stuck turning and running back. By the time I even get the ball in from the warning track the guy is almost to third. I have given up an in the park home run because of this and a few triples.Comment

Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
I think it's just how the fielding in the game is designed. Because it's animation driven, you'd be more successful in thinking how to trigger certain animations (by preloading, moving a player to a location close to catch region) than actually you making the play. I don't have dropped popup issues myself, but when I see my HUM opponent having issues, it's usually he's trying to control the player too much, when he should just let the CPU-assist feature take care of the rest.Comment

Re: anyone else get a lot of pop up errors
I have seen a dropped transfer or 2 on hard grounders in the infield I had to dive or slide to get to. But none were counted as errors. The error I am getting that I think is too often or too exaggerated is when the shortstop flips the ball WAAAAAAY over the second baseman's head and it rolls for ages. No SS would flip that hard to a player less than 10 feet away.Comment
