    Trade proposal screen

Am I the only one that finds this pop-up notification utterly pointless?

Why on earth does it give you an option to immediately consider or decline a trade if you can't see what it is? I just don't understand the logic of three options here when it could simply say "You have been offered a trade, press X to view."

Or am I missing something really obvious here?

Who cares? It automatically highlights view trade anyway.

I agree, it is pretty pointless whether or not view offer is highlighted. What I don't like or can't seem to find (if it even exists), after you view the offer, there should be a way to edit or make a counter offer. I just had the Astros offer an A potential pitching prospect for Granderson. I would have been interested, but not for Grandy. There should be an option to decline and counter.

That's beside the point. It's a redundant screen on an otherwise pretty slick game.

It's not a redundant screen, perhaps the consider option is redundant.

However they have to popup a screen to tell you you have a trade offer and to give you the option to view it. I wouldn't call the decline option redundant either as I've used it many times when I liked my team and really didn't want to make any kind of move.

Yes it would be nice to be able to see the offer on the screen, but the screen is still needed.

I can see why they have the decline offer. If you don't want to make a trade at all and don't want to look then you can just click that to end it. I have used that a couple of times when I didn't want to make a trade.

Tell me a business of any variety - not just a sports team - that would automatically decline a proposal without at least looking at it first. Come on.

I've declined plenty trades without looking at them because I knew I didn't want to trade anyone I had. I try to keep it pretty realistic though.

I thought the same thing reading this thread lol. And I'm with you OP. I've never thought about it before but now that you mention it, that's quite silly.

                      This^

                      No one is untouchable.

If the Nationals got an offer for Bryce Harper, they might laugh, but they would hear the offer, because you just never know.

This is just a game not a real business. When I am simming multiple years in franchise and I am satisfied with the team I have and I don't want to take the time to look at what the trade is. Might not be for everyone but I use it on occasion

View offer=...I've got time now...I'll check out the trade screen and perhaps make a deal.
Consider offer=....I don't have time now...I'm still curious, but I'd like to play today's game first and leave the GM stuff until later.
Decline trade=I have no use for any player moves right now(I'll always check out the trade, but.....) thanks anyway.

Perhaps the decline trade is not necessary, but I don't see what's wrong with the first two.

Then what's wrong is the label. Your explanation, and the actual definition for the word "Consider" aren't even remotely similar.
It should say something like "Undecided" or "Save for later"...
