    Re: Most effective 4th pitch?

I think you have been given some great choices. Splitter, 2-Seam Fastball, Slider are all pitches that different dominant closers have in the game.

However something to keep in mind, is that not to many closers have 4 pitches, if they did they would be Starting Pitchers. However if you really want a 4th my personal opinion is to make the ratings very low and be a pitch in which you have to work on improving. Like low control, confidence or something. Anytime I have a guy who has full confidence on all 4 of his pitches I feel like I am cheating the CPU. I run with the M's and have Carter Capps as my CP, and he throws a 4-seam fastball that can hit 100, a changeup and a curveball, my setup guy S. Pryor throws a 4-seam fastball, a 2-seam fastball and slider and a pretty weak changeup that typically gets hit out of the yard.

I find it interesting when pitching with Felix, well he has 5 pitches, his ability/confidence in his slider and even sometimes his sinker is not that high during games. making me rely on his fastball/changeup a lot

One word: BREAK. I'd train that up before adding another pitch. It is the most important thing when actually playing the game yourself.
