I love the game on PS3. It is almost perfect.

Things I think that will be taken to the next level on PS4?

1) full on immersion in franchise mode with deeper stat keeping, career numbers, a preview or monthly show with highlights. Maybe even a this week in baseball style show? Active and far more detailed crowds. An even higher level of detail while playing at the ball park.

2) Matty V, Lyons and Karros are great and now with the new power of the PS4 we can get dynamic commentary and color in franchise mode. I fully expect it to go to the next level.

3) Better AI off the field in te way of trades, lineups, pitcher moves, and overall baseball smarts.

4) even deeper customization for roster makers.

5) even better physics


The game in its current state is a joy for me. It will only get better next gen. No doubt about it. SCEA and The Shows dev teams are top notch and I have zero worries about the series heading into th new PS4 Era.

Knowing this dev team like most of us do....I'm sure they will not disappoint and will probably blow us away

Just really wrap your head around the jump from PS2 to PS3 that this game made......that being said, MLB The Show 15 and 16 is where I really expect to just be completely amazed after they have had a good year to work with the new system.

Graphically
A) I would love to see every single player have their exact stance/windup and would LOVE if they added a feature where we could even tweak the stance such as (raising the hands, foot placement, crouch, etc)

B) I think the stadiums/environment/crowd etc will really see a significant improvement

I also am certain that the physics and feel of the game will be improved drastically although it is so damn good now.

At the end of the day - this is already the best baseball game ever made and such a great representation of the game......the next 5 to 10 years should be incredible

I mean, how much better can it look? Its almost photo realistic at this point?

The only things I can see improving would be maybe some uniform stuff and the faces of the players. Perhaps the crowd could be a little more HD and the lighting would be a little upgraded.

Grass texture and ball physics on the ground will probably receive a slight upgrade.

You'll probably see players go in and out of the dugout a bit more.

And you might see more animations due to the increased memory.

But a still screenshot will probably look much like the PS3.

I have to disagree with you as I think we are going to see some big differences between PS3 and PS4 versions of MLB The Show. However big to me may not be big to someone else I guess.

We'll see big differences. Maybe not the first year, but they'll be there.

The lighting and the "depth" (hard to explain, more of an intangible thing) will be two very important aspects. Consider jersey cloth with its own independent physics system, probably looking at 3D grass, and hey... chances are we're getting another crack at new player models again, and hopefully this time SCEA perfects them! Not only that, but baseball video games show crowds all of the time. The crowds should be looking fantastic as well.

There will be good things on the horizon in the visual department, and the improvements will be more than minimal. Don't know how much we're getting this upcoming year, but in this generation we should be plenty wowed.

I would love to see grass that looks like grass, signs around the stadium where they are in real life, also with that I would like the little things that are at the stadium to be represented. Like the right field bleachers in Oakland with their fan made banners or the "Kings Court" in Seattle. If they never happen because of how hard it would be to program I'd be ok with it, but it would be cool little touches if included.

Isn't anyone worried about the first years games being crappy on the new consoles? I remember when the 360 came out I rushed to get one and was so excited to get the new nba live and it was the worst game I've ever played....well, madden may have been even worse. I fear the same thing this time around.

As far as MLB 14 The Show absolutely not worried at all and I think it will by far be the best version of the game ever!. I would also say NBA 2K14 will be a solid game on next gen as well. But I am very very worried about how well EA Sports first releases will be on next gen. I would love nothing more for Madden and NBA Live to be fantastic on next gen but I have a bad feeling both games will be a big let down especially when you consider what these new next gen systems are capable of. EA Sports has not put out a good football game since the PS2 days so why should we expect anything different on next gen. But man would I love to be way wrong about EA.

I guess we will find out in 68 days

I know we are not allowed to compare games so let me put it this way... what happened with Madden and NBA Live isn't really relevant here.

SCEA has proven themselves to actually have the desire to put out a quality product. That desire is something a lot of companies do not have.

Hey Ramone, how bout a shot of the in-game sunny day sky running on PS4? That would give an idea of what is to come.
