I'd like to see editing pitch types to two, as some pitchers in real baseball just throw two pitch types.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I don't know what Ramone meant when he said "broken," I just know what the word actually means. I'm not looking to argue, I just wanted to add in my 2 cents to say that I think it's a huge exaggeration to even use the word in that sense. Nothing about the game actually breaks as a result of modifying player potential values.
Not sure why you're getting so defensive or whatever it is you're doing!
Perhaps it's because I speak to Ramone a lot and get the gist when he says "broken"....but if you thought he meant LITERALLY broken as in your disc would disintegrate or you would see a screen that said "you broke the game...sorry....try again next year" I would find that quite odd.
I'm going to go ahead and say that on this brand new thing called the "internet"......when referring to a game as "broken" it doesn't always mean it in a Mission Impossible tape disappearing kind of way.
(although I must admit I do dislike the term because it's used way too often....so I'm with you there.)
But I'm just crazy like that....so I could be wrong!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
Things I would like to see in MLB 14:
Fixed and fully manual base running
The ability to pitch from the stretch or full wind up as the situation warrants. ( Like the Computer does )
Reduced balls off the pitcher
Better goals and advancement in RTTS
Single A clubs added for full play
More stadiums both classic and minor league
Rain delay and double headers
I would also like to be able to just hit a button like in the old College Hoop 2k8 days and have the game generate a roster of just random generic with fictional names.
Cosmetic:
Closing roofs
Bat boys and ball girls.
Fans actually catching the ball
More uniforms for at least the majors
Just my wish list and I am sure very different from a lot of yours.Last edited by Bullit; 11-16-2013, 03:05 PM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I don't know if I would call it defensive as much as I might call it confused.

I hope they do open up the editing process to allow this....contracts and service time.

Like when I think of The Show being broken, I think of that one bug we had last year or 2 years ago (whenever it was)... where franchise files froze upon loading because of a schedule conflict in a patch update. THAT'S something that broke the game.
Or I think of my old PS2, which at one point I had propped diagonally because that seemed to make it successfully play games at a more consistent rate.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
Yea, this is super late, but my hope would be:
1. Age progression in RTTS so that you actually decline as you get older. Have a slider to offset how far you want that to go.
2. A little more detail put into the background of stadiums. It's pretty bad, but I hope PS4 will allow them to go crazy.
3. The ability as a reliever or closer to graduate to a starter if you have the ability. It would be cool if the coaches ask you during your RTTS if you would like the opportunity.
4. Fix the pitchers being smoked by balls and still getting the batter out. I would actually like those to be automatic injuries if it's hit hard enough. It would suck to happen to you in game, but hey it happens in real life.
That's all I had on my "hopelist".Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
One thing i'd love to see that i haven't seen any (many?) mention is an auto-sub option. almost a reverse manager mode...where I don't make any subs during the game (sort of like most football and basketball games have) but i just play the game out. wouldnt always use it...but would often.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
My idea would incorporate three different aspects for customization..
1) Gain License to as many Classic Stadiums as possible.. Tiger Stadium, Ebbets Field in particular.
None of this matters if we can't get Ebbets. Because that's the key to my entire idea.
2) Customizable Divisions.. Thus allowing Dodgers and Giants to relocate back to NY . not to mention the Athletics back to Philly.
3) Beyond keeping the optional DH setting, also include a option whether or not have Interleague play.
This used together would give us all a lot of enjoyment.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I hope the following are fixed for the next game. These will save me so much stress.
1. Super tag. Like when I'm retreating back to a base, my guy will be on the ground and inches away from reaching the bag, the fielder will receive the throw and BAM, out because of the super tag.
2. The slowdown around third. You guys know this one. Even if you preload your guy to run around third as soon as you hit a ball into the outfield, he'll still stumble around third. If you don't send him back, he'll always be out at home.
3. Omniscient cutoff men. Let's say I hit a gapper, easy double, maybe a triple. I'll send the runner around second, he'll take five or so steps to third, and then I'll send him back. Just as I send him back or a moment earlier, the cutoff man will receive the ball. With his back towards the infield, he'll know I pressed the R1 button to retreat, throw to second, and nail me. The throw should be dead set on third to stop the triple.
4. My base runners constantly stopping in the middle of the base paths. I'll do a hit and run, they'll stop when I swing. If I hit the ball, it's an easy double play, if it's in the dirt, it's an easy caught stealing. It has also gotten worse. I won't even send the runner when sometimes they won't run on hits to the outfield. Then they'll be thrown out at second.
5. Left handed hitting base runners wearing right handed batting helmets. It's actually a rarity for lefties to keep their correct helmets after they reach base.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I'd like to see a change in prospect attribute development and split the attributes into "skill sets" and "talent sets". As a position player, your "talent sets" would be divided into main 5 groups, one for each of the 5 tools (hitting, power, base running, fielding, and arm strength). In turn, your "skill sets" would be sub-attributes of these talents and would indicate how well a player can use his talents. The talent set should be used to show potential and would change very little over time. Skill sets would show the current proficiency, accuracy and efficiency of each talent and can change quite frequently depending on coaching, experience, and chemistry.
It's always bothered me how much prospects can improve their speed and arm strength in The Show. In the real world, baseball players are born with tremendous arms and speed. They posses those talents at their fullest as soon as they are drafted so much of a prospects work in the minors is focused on harnessing his talent through skill development to be more accurate and efficient, not gaining more talent (gaining talent is near impossible unless know a good chemist) In The Show, outfielders can be drafted with a 55 arm strength and develop all the way up to a 95. That does not happen to real people.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
My remaining wishlist:
1. Gotta have more playable cameras. Specifically fielding. I like seeing all the animations, but not in cut-scene form. I'd love to have more cameras that show the entire field (or semi-focused on infield/outfield depending on ball location) and let me look where I want to look. Give me the fan's perspective from several different stadium locations. I want to see more ball-flight to gauge if a ball is going to the wall, maybe going over the fence, or slicing to my fielder. This would add more drama. I play auto-fielding, so I can be zoomed out and still enjoy the game.
2. More stat overlays. Specifically, stuff like stats in different counts, situations, vs. pitcher, league ranking, recent batting, etc. This was something MLB2K series did fairly well. I won't spend hours going through stats when not playing, so show me a lot of them while I'm playing.
3. Light weather affects would be nice. I don't need "rain-outs," but a windy day might have occasional trash drifting accurately on the field, the flags should blow accurately based on direction and strength of wind, light rain would be nice, etc. This kind of thing would add to making the stadiums more alive.Comment
