Unlikely but it would be cool if they made Mariano the cover man and then did a Jordan-esque mode from 2K where you could do a road to the show starting from Mo's beginning of his career as a set up man in the world series for the Yankees and play through all his major games. Also put in some classic teams / rosters like 2k did when they introduced the Jordan feature.

Mariano won't be on the 2014 cover...it wouldn't make sense...MLB 14 opens a new era on the PS4...why have a player who's era is ending grace a new era cover?

Because it's not about eras. It's about marketing, and right now, Mariano is extremely marketable.
