Because people who don't like it have nothing else better to do then throw in their .02 and get on their high horse that they are true baseball sim purists who need to play out every pitch, watch every cut scene, spit sunflower seeds in their living room, wear cleats, yell at the umpires, and get off their couch to wave runners home.

Yeah, so does playing baseball with a video game controller!

No need, because generated counts are an option now.

Jokes aside, the feature is in. I'm not sure I understand the need to "solve" a problem that isn't a problem...or am I missing your point?

I was being serious. If you like the new option great use it. It isn't something I would use but since we each own the game we can play it however we want right? doesn't preclude me from having an opinion on the thing though. I am entitled to my opinion aren't I?

The problem with that is you lose any chance of realistic stats. This way we can get the best of both worlds, realistic stats and a quick game. Throw in fast play and games should get over nice and quick. Can't wait until March.

Does carry over saves mean OSFM rosters for Show15 can now be started on next November using Show14?

I'd say that depends on whether roster save files would carry over from year to year like Franchise/RTTS files would.

For that to work they would basically have to never change the roster/player attribute system ever again.

Or just make any new attribute be zero (or whatever random number)for old players ported to a new system.

Point taken, but how are they going to do exactly this for Franchise/RTTS files?

Just an example: Say for '15 they introduce a numerical, visible-to-everyone pickoff rating for pitchers, and it doesn't exist in '14. For '14 Franchises/RTTS's that are imported into '15, how is the game going to come up with that new rating for every pitcher in the league?

There's definitely a lot of questions about the carry over that's going to take some time to fully understand, and this is exactly why this had to wait for next-gen to even be a possibility - because the groundwork has to be laid for it from the very first game.

There has to be a conversion in place though. There are ratings not in NCAA football but you get them in Madden when you import.

I'm sure this was thought about

Of course they did, and I'm looking forward to seeing their solution. The logistics of it completely boggle my mind...lol

Yeah it's mind blowing to even think about. The fact that it's already been accomplish, and that SCEA already has the ground work down... I can't even begin to wrap my head around that.

Interesting to hear it's already done in Madden... I've never played any football video games (except for NFL Blitz, and random kiosks at Best Buy) so I didn't know about that one.
